Since we’re feeling festive, we thought it would be a nice time to put out another S&S Guest mix and this time we’ve pulled out the Big Guns in the form of Rory Hoy

Rory is a multi-award winning music producer/DJ, author and film maker. He has DJ’ed throughout the country in clubs and at Major Festivals including Leeds Festival, Leeds United Football Club, and he was the Opening Act at the Tour de France Fan Park performing to over 20,000 people and has DJ’d in Paris several times. He’s supported Craig Charles on his Funk & Soul tours and Craig plays his tracks regularly on his BBC6 Funk & Soul Show.

Rory Definitely delivers in this mix with a big upbeat vibe form start to finish. Without doubt one to get the party started over the festivities.

Jason Brown (aka Jayclue) is Qdup, and has been making dance floors groove and butts move worldwide since late 2006. Over the years, Qdup has released top selling tunes and remixes on many well received labels including Bombstrikes, Fort Knox Recordings, Bombastic Jam, Goodgroove, Air, ESL Music, Royal Soul, MustBeat and his own Qdup Records imprint.

Having remixed the likes of Fort Knox Five, DJ Love, Thunderball, Basement Freaks, All Good Funk Alliance and Ursula1000 to name a few, Qdup has garnered a spot as one of the most in demand artists for remixing friends of funk and breaks. Also known for his party mashing exclusive edits and re-rubs, he has gained a following via some of the webs hottest blogs, dropping secret weapon DJ tunes.

As an established tastemaker, Qdup has been a contributor to the UK based Ghetto Funk blog since it's inception and has produced several tracks on their Icons series remix albums. 2013 saw Qdup break out on the summer festival scene in North America including Shambhala (Salmo, BC), BassCoast (Merritt, BC), Firefly Fest (DE, USA), Art Outside (TX, USA) and P.E.X. (MD, USA). With additional releases upcoming on Fort Knox Recordings, new collaborations, remixes, free downloads and DJ mixes in the works, 2014 is lining up to be a busy year for Qdup.

Madame Electrifie is the alter ego of breaks/electro DJ Little Jo. 

Jo has amassed some 17 years on the decks, playing some of the UK’s leading venues, from grass roots gigs right through to iconic venues like Turnmills and Ministry of Sound. She has supported some of the biggest names in electronic music over the years across all spectrums of the dance music world including The Stanton Warriors, Jon Carter, Elite Force, A Skillz, Annie Nightingale, Rob Da Bank, Krafty Kuts, the Freestylers and a whole host of bands. A festival favourite thanks to her eclectic taste; summer sees her play sets across all kinds of festival stages at Glastonbury, Bestival, Truefest, Shindig, IOW, Nozstock & Shambala, alongside presenting her own stages at Boomtown and Beatherder as an extension to her long-standing club promotion Madame Electrifie’s Discotech. 

Back when we were allowed to party, she toured in both Australia and France and is a resident for Adidas Rockstars. Alongside DJing she hosts a monthly show for Data Transmission Radio and is a regular contributor to BBC Music Introducing.  

Fusing the best vintage beats with the best of the modern age; Madame Electrifie takes classic grooves and threads through everything from hip hop and funk, to house, disco, bass and breaks to create a raucous dancefloor-focused party. It a blend of that distinctive driving sound that’s a firm nod to her breaks and tech roots, spliced with plenty of funk, fun and a refusal to take life too seriously. 
Of that wasn’t enough to keep her busy, Madame Electrifie is also one half of Evil Twin with Mini Da Minx, and producer in electronica/trip hop trio Cassini Circles.
