“Fairbanks” is the first single from @daniel-nitsch-the-glitz’s first album “Broken Land” of his latest project @hounah. Daniel invites for this song the Swiss singer Lena Schmidt. “Fairbanks” grants in a special way a deep look into their feelings and thoughts. Influenced by TripHop of the late early 1990s Fairbanks shows a soulful fusion of sounds.  You can see that Daniel and his project “Hounah” obviously doesn't like any preconceived patterns, being mentally on the way – and this beyond conventions.

I Lost My Poncho In Istanbul is proud to present to you a fresh selection of bomb tracks from Ecuadorian mastermind Nicola Cruz and the Brazilian label honcho Pigmalião. The new release ILPI003 exposes identities from both artists in their pursuit of representing South American references comprised by local expressions mixed with afro rhythms exploited in a more obscure, avant-garde and electronic intended soundscapes.

On side-A, Nicola Cruz tracks Apnea and Marea blend dembow and soca rhythms with modular music, leaving space for these harmonics to create dance patterns. Both are a duality of ideas that have travelled across the oceans, from Africa to South America, and back, reinforcing the idea of accentuation in music, rather than the usual straight forward dance structure. These are songs that evoke a primitive feeling, crafted on a contemporary head.

On side-B, Pigmalião tracks B2 and Ocrânimo explore acid lines and syncopated rhythms for darker dance floor environments in distinct BPMs sealing a proper b-side storytelling for the release.

The ever-reliable Batov Records have another unmissable 45 on the way. This time it's a band formed only this year called Şatellites. MIMS is proud to premiere B-Side, "Deli Deli", a razor sharp slice of Turkish psych funk & pop in 6/8 time.

Şatellites are another exciting act from the celebrated Tel Aviv music scene, and here at Batov Records we love them! Formed earlier this year, the group comprises talented vocalist Yuli Shafriri on the synth; Itamar Klüger on the baglama & bouzouki; Ariel Harrosh on the bass and Azriel ‘Raz’ Man on the drums. The band plays everything from Anatolian rock to vintage psych and spacey grooves. Şatellites describe their sound as retro-fresh psych à la Turk, a musical “laboratory” lost somewhere between the mysterious alleys of 70’s Istanbul and the scorching sun and crystal blue sea of Jaffa-Tel Aviv.

"Deli Deli" opens with a groovy bass riff and ululating synth, followed by a nifty melodic lead on the baglama and then Yuli’s enchanting vocals. The song is a new interpretation of an old piece by beloved 70’s Turkish folk singer Şakir Öner. This new version differs from the original in the more bright and poppy feel, conveyed by the 6/8 rhythm, and the addition of a whole new section by the band. 

"Deli Deli" is released on 27th November with "Big Baglama" on the flip, and if you've checked that one already then you've surely bought a copy! Destined to be a hit at your next post-lockdown breakers jam and very much destined to sell out. So don't sleep!

Based in Osaka, Ground processes and reconstructs sounds he encounters around the world to create new creations for the dancefloor. evoke visions of pulsating otherworldly ecosystems. Immersing oneself in these sounds often feels like transcending the human-alien divide.

He started DJing in his teens and has played all over Japan, based in Osaka's underground music scene. He was one of the founders of the Chill Mountain collective, which held regular parties on the mountainside of Osaka, and later, together with sound engineer Kabamix and designer Mt.chills, started to focus on the record label Chill Mountain Recordings. He began to focus his efforts on the Chill Mountain Recordings record label with sound engineer Kabamix and designer Mt.chills. They have performed at various festivals and events in over 21 countries, including the USA, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Germany, Ecuador, Croatia, Israel, Cyprus and Switzerland.

He has a thriving personal career, with a rich and complex catalogue of EPs, singles and collaborations, as well as seven albums & seven Ep releases, including his 2018 world debut album SUNIZM on the LA label ESP Institute.
