It all started for Brooklyn, NY born and Paterson, NJ raised Jose Rubiani (AKA DJ HolidayNYC) on a September night in 1979 at the legendary Elegante Discoteque in Fairview, NJ. An unforgettable and eargasmic Disco experience and journey by legendary DJs Sergio Munzubai, John “Jellybean” Benitez, & Jose “The Animal” Diaz, gave birth that evening to a musical addiction, that after 38 years in the craft, still drives DJ HolidayNYC.

Heavily influenced by the musical masters and legendary DJ/Remixers Shep Pettibone, Jose “The Animal” Diaz, John “Jellybean” Benitez, Tony Humphries, Louie Vega, The Latin Rascals, as well as Hip-Hop Masters, Super Jay, Marly Marl and Red Alert, DJ HolidayNYC mastered the art of mixing Rap, Disco, R&B, House, Freestyle, and Latin and quickly garnered a reputation for his eclectic music programming and master-mixing skills.

Earning DJ residencies early on at legendary clubs such as Butterfields (Wallington, NJ), Club America (Newark, NJ), First Step Lounge (Paterson, NJ), Movida Night Club (Bronx) And Chi Chi’s (Secaucus, NJ) further solidified his popularity and earned him quite a following and reputation for moving the crowd. Graduating from New York’s “Center For Media Art” in 1991, DJ HolidayNYC learned the art of music production and sound engineering, securing internships at Arthur Baker’s Shakedown Studio (NYC) and Eastern Artists Recording Studio (E.A.R.S.- East Orange, NJ) where he polished his remixing and editing skills.

HolidayNYC also took his sound to Internet Radio in 2004, creating the popular “Deep City Sessions” mix show which spanned over 10 years on JerseyDJs.com, FaceTheBass.com, CyberJamz.com, and PrePartyRadio.com Internet Radio stations.
