Twenty years have passed since Robert Hood established M-Plant as the outlet for his pioneering, minimal reinvention of the Detroit techno blueprint. To mark this anniversary, 2014 has seen classic M-Plant releases reinvigorated by a series of re-edits and remixes, culminating in the next milestone in the label’s musical journey: ‘M-Print: 20 Years of M-Plant Music’.

Spanning 33 tracks across 3 CDs, ‘M-Print’ brings together for the first time a collection of essential Hood moments from the vast M-Plant back catalogue, alongside a hoard of new, re-mastered and unreleased material. Covering Robert’s output under his own name, as well as his Floorplan and Monobox aliases, the compilation is a coherent journey that celebrates the past, present and future of the M-Plant label.

His performance history started in 1995 as a Drum n Bass Dj called Divine, later started playing Techno switching to the Moniker Plural and has played mostly in the U.S. His calm demeanor belies the massive amounts of energy he creates in his highly technical DJ sets, and the ethereal beauty of his live performances.

He has also  contributed an amazing remix to Andre Crom's latest release on OFF, the "Tool #001 EP".

DEEPBASS - Scotland

Deepbass was introduced to the scene in 2009 his music is best described as deep, dark, atmospherical techno.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland. His passion for electronic music started from a young age where he would spend his weekends in record stores hunting for music, he discovered artists like Speedy J and Jeff Mills who really opened his eyes to the world of techno.

He started producing music in 2008 and from there his sound evolved, always minimalistic, elements of ambient, hypnotic rhythms and deep rolling bassline's.

In 2010 he launched his label Informa Records as a platform to express himself and to explore further into his brand of deep techno

NESS - Italy

Ness became interested in electronic music in the late 90's. Few years later he started djing, taking inspiration from various genres going from trance to pure experimentation. The interest in music led him to attend various courses as audio engineer or the conservatory of his hometown in Italy for some years. The need to express himself through music led him to experiment and research, the result in recent years that reflects better his music is increasingly focused on the atmosphere that is intertwined with a hypnotic rhythm.Since 2009 he founded his own label Mono Records that take the name from his own record store where he used to work since 2007 with his friend Bettosun; and releases music in labels such as Prologue, Synewave, Dynamic Reflection, Informa Records and M_REC LTD. The experience gained through the years leads to define his DJ sets that are characterized by a strong array of Techno and House at the same time.

NAX ACID - Italy

Nax Acid aka Andrea Ruffino, born in 1982, started playing electronic music when he was 17, after hearing classic early Aphex Twin albums. Since then he started collecting vinyl and playing every kind of electronic music from hardcore to electro, from drum & bass to techno. In 2004 he started making deep minimal, acid and Detroit techno influenced tracks. In 2005 moved to London from his native Italy and started to work for ‘disappear here’ record label (Kompakt) started by Chris Spero and Antony Sergeant. His first release in December 2006, “Friends & Crocodiles” which was well received on the underground London techno scene. Since 2007 he has started to put together his own label project called Aconito Records. "The label is a sonic experiment with techno, minimal and with ambient and electronica, to create a new atmospheric techno voyage, which also works on the dance floor".
Andrej Naxovich _Andrej Naxovich is a side project of the Italian Dj/Producer Andrea Ruffino aka nAX_acid. The project rise to discover new way of creating and composing sounds. The aim is to experiment and push to the limit the sound and create new sonic shapes of sound and music. The project is not defined by a specific genre but to range in all modern experimental and electroacoustic genres, from minimalism to ambient. It also includes an investigation in sound contextualizing among space (real and virtual), structure and time, to go against the stativity of modern and contemporary music and try to create a “new sonic environment”.

DJ HYPERACTIVE BIO
Chicago born and bred DJ, Producer Joseph Manumaleuna aka DJ Hyperactive needs little introduce to those versed in the history of techno. As one of Daft Punk’s “Teachers” and “brother of the humble” according to Resident Adviser, his contributions to the underground continue to span generations. Honing his skills in the highly influential scene and sound of Chicago in the early 90s, DJ Hyperactive gained instant international recognition and has since gone on to play the most legendary and lauded events and venues over the last 20 years, such as Orbit/ Leeds, Liquid Room/ Tokyo, Love Parade/ Berlin, Shelter & Smart Bar/ Chicago, Interface/ Los Angeles, Movement/ Detroit, Basement & Output/ Brooklyn, Tresor & Berghain/ Berlin and the list doesn’t stop there. Also over the course of his career, he has produced over 100 remixes and original tracks, including classics such as ‘Venus’ & ‘Wide Open’/ Missile, ‘25HRs’/ Droid, “Music Box/ ‘4Trk’, Reptilian Tank & Chicago’/Contact, Drop Bass, Communique, Hybrid, Truncate, Figure, Plus 8, CLR, Blank Code, Impact Mechanics, Illegal Alien, to name a few. DJ Hyperactive returned to Chicago 2013 to reconnect with his family and musical roots. His story continues with the difference being the experience and perspective that only a true veteran can possess.
