For the 3rd and final set of the night we had Goldie taking it back to the 90's in front of a sold out crowd, this is the last of the 3 recordings that we are uploading from this memorable mid-summer event. It was a special night in June of this year with 800+ people crammed into Xoyo's upstairs room (from pretty much before the very first needle was placed on the record until going past the nights extended close). Again a big thanks to Benji B for inviting us down to take over the room.

The first 60m is Blame's set (it's a 60m CD), I copied this to cassette (90m) years ago, then I added another couple of tracks on the end - so the last 43m of the set is my mixing (hence no MC's) - I no longer have the CD so had to copy from tape and thought I may as well leave my bit on the end.

This is logical, this is a progression... The original and still one of the best sets around, LTJ's about to touch down. After much confusion I finally found the original 1996 version of LTJ's seminal Logical Progression 2 CD release. This is the mixed set (CD-B). Intelligent DnB at its finest. This is my (Jo Public) mix of the tracks on CD-A from the original 1996 version of LTJ's Logical Progression (the unmixed CD), I am NOT affiliated with GoodLooking. This mix features 10 of the best intelligent DnB tracks ever made, each track easily stands on its own but I don't like uploading full tracks unmixed - it feels like too much of a copyright infringement - plus I never listen to unmixed tracks - hopefully my mix does 'em justice. LTJ presents Logical Progression (CD-A mixed by JoPublic, 1996) Intelligent DnB

this is the mix, consisting of Moving Shadow releases only, clocking in at 4 (four) hours and is the first mix of three. all tracks featured (except one) are from releases with catalogue numbers before 100 - roughly at that time there was a major change in drum&bass as a whole - it became more cold, nervous, machine-like and I felt emotionally more connected to the more soulful, atmospheric and jazzy stuff being released earlier than that.

as you might have figured out by now, I was - and still am, in a way - an addict of this fine label which managed to release a hell of an amount of most forefront quality drum&bass and jungle of it's time. I was so obsessed I had to get every single vinyl Moving Shadow release. after 250 or so releases, I still am halfway. for me, it was a label with unsurpassed quality/quantity ratio, with an unique sound, the cream of the crops, the icing on a chocolate cake. few other drum&bass labels have ever gotten close to this, most notably the Good Looking empire, Metalheadz.

if anyone should care, it was recorded using two stanton st-90 turntables, a numark dm3001x mixer and two stanton sk520 cartridges, meaning it's an all vinyl mix and recorded in one go.

as I said before, there are two more 4-hour moving shadow only sessions. my ultimate dream would be to re-record and re-master these mixes using digital copies, to ensure the best sound quality which the pieces of music contained definitely deserve. these mixes were intended to be a journey through the soundscape, the snapshot of mid-90s moving shadow world, therefore, my input is merely a vessel for the music.

PFM -Old Skool Dance Anthems from the early 90s

I was a working DJ/producer 1996-2001 (UK). Lover of electronic music since 1990. I use this site to share some of my mix tapes and the best mixes from other DJs that I've accumulated over the years. This is purely for entertainment, sharing and promoting good music.

I did produce some tracks back in 1998-2000 but only released a couple of EPs with DJ Relay under the names Low Profile & Two-Step2. We are getting back into production again as of 2020 and will be re-releasing some of our old and new tracks going forward, find our tracks on Juno, Beatport, Amazon, etc.
