I can honestly say music saved my life from the gangs and drugs living in the rough neighborhood of Little Village.   My brother (Frank Yanez) was mixing before I was.   I need to thank him for turning me on to it.   I spent many hours next door practicing with Tony "Getdown" Gvozden, Frausto "The Snowman", & Miguel Avitia.   My boys from The Stylistic Party Crew!  Shout out to the SPP's.
Soon after, I wanted my own crew of dj's.   I hooked up with "HotMix" Louie (now known as Luis Segura), Steve "The Madmixer" (RIP Steve Estrada) and myself, oh... I was known then as "Smooth Spinning" Johnny.  (You can laugh). We formed a team called Universal Dance Production and then Hypnotic Sounds.  I then  joined Fusion Dance Promotions with Pedro Rodriguez and the Fusion Crew.

I started mixing at the young age of 10 years old.  Mixing these very jams your about to hear on this mix!  To me these are the CLASSICS that I remember listening to on WCYC and WBMX! So I hope you enjoy this one, cause it's a rare one I tell you!  I started my musical career with these and I wanted to end it with them.   Retired but the music still flows through my veins.
