The back half of my four hour set, starting right when the crowd and I truly began our decent into some heads-down hypnotic techno. I've never gotten a chance to intertwine dub techno into my sets before, and this was an incredibly promising first go at it!

Overall the 2-stage Kai Castro & Friends at Coconut club was a incredible success, I can't wait to work with the phenomenal Coconut Club team again soon.

You'll hear a fair amount of beatmatching errors in this set. One of the decks drifted unexpectedly at times and it was a hell of a workout trying to keep transitions, especially 3 deck work & loops, glued together. That said, the response to this has been so positive I'm not going to let a handful of errors prevent me from sharing it with you all! This is an exercise in me trying to tone down my perfectionism, so I hope you all enjoy it :)

Music for Strangers 05

DJ Chris Kayl (AKA Chris Carratt) made his debut back in 2003 on the underground Hard House/Trance scene taking place in London at the time. Securing residencies at Hammered and Union as well as playing for a host of other promotions such as Hazardous, Smile and X-Static, this took him all over London at numerous venues including Crash, George IV, Cloud 9/Area, Mass, Fridge, Club 414, Factory, Jacks as well as others.

Since then his music style has expanded holding down a Funky House residency with Attention at the Southside bar and Telegraph. Alongside playing Electro, Progressive and Techno regularly for promotions Injury Time and Ickle Freitag at many other venues across London.

Over the past few years he has occasionally been DJing at Ministry of Sound on a Friday night where he has shared flyers with the likes of Mauro Picotto, Fergie, Jason Cortez, Astral Projection, John OO Fleming, Tall Pall, Marcel Woods, Matt Hardwick, John O'Callaghan, Aly & Fila, Judge Jules to name but a few.
