This week's excellent mixtape comes from Frenchman Okain, a man we've admired for quite some time now. The mix has plenty of flavour, so make sure you download it straight away and get your morning, afternoon or evening bouncing!

Okain grew up in Paris, France and has been immersed in house and techno music since he was a teenager. After spending countless hours listening to DJs like the legendary Laurent Garnier he decided to give it a go himself and bought his first DJing equipment after spending a whole summer making orange juice at a local store (yes, really!).

He's a enjoyed a whirlwind of success over the last few years with strong singles, EPs and remixes under his artist name and also under various aliases such as Samuel Thalmann, Lezar and Handycraft the collaboration with his childhood mate Paul Ritch.  Okain has been a consistent contributor to labels such as Tsuba, BPitch Control, Quartz Rec, vIVA and Upon.You, all of which have helped him become one of the most charted artist on Resident Advisor.

On the touring side of things, Okain's career is also continuously growing with gigs in Europe, China, Japan, North & South America, Canada and Russia. He played at some of the most respected spots such as fabric (London), Rex Club (Paris), Electric Pickle (Miami), Row14 (Barcelona), Ushuaia Ibiza, Space Ibiza, Sankeys (Ibiza & Manchester) and Watergate (Berlin) to name a few.

He's not doing too badly then really is he?! This mix is a great one, we wouldn't have expected anything less.

The first time electronic music really hit Leah and she felt no pain, she was sharing dancefloors with Let the People Dance founder Kristen Marconi, back in the mid-2000s. Both were inspired by the eclectic and talented underground scene forming in Sydney at that time.

Leah’s musical education started in early childhood, when she was drawn to the artwork of her parents' record collection. After spending many hours listening to Rod Stewart’s Atlantic Crossing and Rain Dances by English prog rock band Camel, she knew for sure that she wanted to be a musician when she grew up. 

Passionate about music all her life and with 10 years of classical flute under her belt, Leah still didn’t really find her groove until she moved from the UK to Sydney in 2006.

Until then her exposure to dance music had mainly been the breaks and drum‘n’bass so dominant in her native Southwest (UK). It was only when she discovered the sounds of underground house and techno in Sydney, that she truly found her groove and her passion. She knew she wanted to be a DJ.

After taking an extended break whilst she returned to university, Leah is now firmly back behind the decks. Dark, sultry beats and a funky groove define her style, with fair sprinkling of minimal and UK Garage for good measure.
