I've loved Hard House since 2000 when I first found Megabyte, an amazing event with great DJs, a unique sound, and awesome people.

Most styles of Hard House get me stompin, but I find real joy from that bouncy, fun, happy 'megabyte' sound. My mixes tend to favour that, although I can't resist some female vocals, trancey breakdown, or a thumping bass line 🙌🏻. 

I really enjoy mixing longer transitions, where one tune blends so well with another it creates a unique sound; making it hard to tell where one tune stops and another starts! Have started experimenting with using other hard dance sounds in my mixes, including techno, hard trance and tech house, and always try to include current and forgotten tunes in my mixes.

Massive influence from the peroxide, frantic, 12inch thumpers, shock and cheeky trax labels back in the day; yet also with the Joe Longbottom, Wayne German, Nikkdbubble, Dexitron and Dan Diamond sound currently in my tune selections.

Matt Bailey is an exciting new DJ about to hit the scene from South Wales.

Originally from Leicestershire, Like most DJ's starting out as clubber back in the late nineties I frequented jaunts such as  Emporium Coalville and Progress Derby following my passion for genres from Trance to Hard House, exploring the music in this energetic scene...living for the weekend! 

The noughties brought a relocation to Cardiff and the buzzin nights, Time Flies and LAMERICA. I often frequented the super club Evolution as it soon became the home of the iconic Welsh capital. 

Having a wide appreciation of music, and experience of spinning tunes on vinyl, I became a fan of DJ's including Fatboy Slim, JFK, Kris Hill, Big Al, TDV along with the Tidy boys, Amber D and the rest of the tidy girls with tunes influencing my life, which has never gone away. 

As sensibility kicked in with work and family life, a random night out brought the realisation, I had been out the scene for 15 years! 

I'm now at an age where it's now or never! So after taking the plunge to try my hand a DJ'ing I bought my first decks for a long time with the hope, enthusiasm and a dream to fulfil a life time ambition! 

Now two years on I've learnt a massive amount by joined Amber D's 'how to DJ on line tutorials', having 1-2-1 lessons with Amber D herself and with the support of David Timothy, I've created a unique style that combines the fundamentals from classic Hard House paired with the love for the sound of new Hard House. 

Mixing gives me a chance to relive those magic 90s/00s days and share that with like minded friends. 

Amber D - Matt Bailey has been one of my most promising students, taking everything I teach and applying it with his own unique style and flair.  One to watch and I'm so privileged to have been there to see the start of his career take off!
