For more than two decades Rother aggregated a vast musical canon that reflects his unique career as a sound researcher exploring the aesthetics far beyond the boundaries of electro, techno and pop music.

"David Cox, also known as "Master Dave", has been working with dsmurfy since May of 2004 and is the acting Director of Operations. He studied music composition at Texas Tech University and The University of North Texas. He was also a member and soloist of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in 1999 and 2000, where he toured all over the United States and performed at stadiums which held close to 60,000 fans. 

With dsmurfy, Master Dave began humbly by assisting with lighting for weddings and private events, but soon moved on to hosting karaoke shows all over the metroplex. In 2010 he added even more skills by learning club style turntablism. He has been the resident DJ at many local venues including the Fox and Hound, the Irish Rover in Frisco, Tx, and at the Abbey Underground in Denton, TX. He has headlined for many prestigious weekly show including Zen, Texas Tailgate, and Pubstep (now know as BASSment). Master Dave was the resident for BASSment (a show that features all bass heavy styles including Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Drumstep, House, Breaks, Hip Hop, etc). BASSment features the area's best headliners including large groups such as the Denton Dance Collective, Dub Commission, the Vinyl Vixens, and the Ghost Daddies. Also he is the official DJ for local rap artist D. Smiley. Master Dave has played at many top locations across the country including Margaritaville on the strip in Las Vegas, and at Disney World in Orlando. 

When Master Dave is off the stage he is either coordinating dsmurfy's events or he is producing new music. Whether its a new track, a remix, mashup, or live set, Master Dave is constantly evolving. He has produced dance mixes for many high school's cheerleaders/dance teams, as well as martial arts demonstrations. Currently he is teaching kids and teenagers the basics of DJing. Master Dave is not only one of the top DJs in the Metroplex, he is the most well rounded."

**Master Dave now works at (f)ILTERED recording studio in McKinney, TX as the head recording/sound engineer.
