This is the set I played at Kuntival, Karneval of Kunts! This was an opening set so all about getting people slowly in the mood. It starts with some deep house then grooves its way into some funky house. I had some technical issues with the recording so please excuse the odd blip or two...hope you enjooooy! Motshabi - Karneval of Kunts 2024 @ Mokka Mitte Bar, Berlin

This set is all about homecoming: I played it in my home city of Johannesburg, South Africa and played B2B for the very first time with my cousin, Man of Lemon. What an adventure! The set starts off nice and slow with some groovy house jams, working its way up to some local classics and once again ending with darker undertones. Thank you Bad Manors for hosting my SA debut and thank you to this electric crowd that very vocally and physically shared their energy with us!

I'm Motshabi. One foot in Germany, one foot in South Africa, with my spirit in the diaspora. I'm a Berlin-based DJ aiming to create an atmosphere that captures these music influences. I'm drawn towards bringing things together that seem opposing: rituals into the future; playful percussions on top of pushing basslines; lighthearted fun driven by force...I recommend a good sound system when listening!
