Our good friends from the other side of the channel "Ransom Note Records" have teamed up with House Hunting to reissue something special to say the least. First recorded in 1983 under the name "Visual", Boyd Jarvis's cut "The Music Got Me" is one of the first true house records and a timeless classic. A staple in the 80's New York club scene, the visionary "instrumental dub" was played everywhere from the "Paradise Garage" to "Zanzibar", dance-floors packing to it's mix of throbbing bass and wooshes of analogue synth magic.
Ransom Note have long been obsessed with the record, so when House Hunting's "Aiden D'Araujo" interviewed Boyd and found out that they could license it - they jumped at the chance. Now, they present "The Music Got You" sounding bigger and better than ever before. Remastered from Boyd's original tapes by Keith Tenniswood from "Two Lone Swordsmen" at Curved Studios, The Music Got Me is pressed on limited edition, heavyweight vinyl for clarity and bass pressure.Complimenting the original release come 2 completely new mixes - the first is a dubbed out masterpiece from edit-king "Nick the Record" alongside Dan Tyler of the "Idjut Boys". Between them they take the essence of Jarvis's original and tease it out into a cavernous disco killer. Next up and here premiered comes Bawrut, the man behind Ransom Note's debut release, the nu-acid anthem "Ciquita" also premiered by us ! Bawrut does what he does best, throwing in Latin percussion, layers of screwball 303 burbles, and a sense of joy, all whilst keeping Boyd's original bass groove rolling. Don't sleep i know you want that one big time !

Premiere: Begin 'Day Pulse'

The first in a series of three 12" samplers featuring a selection of tracks from our 'Ten Years Of Phonica' compilation, released in 2014. 

Tigersushi and Crowdspacer boss Joakim kicks off the first 12" with melancholic masterpiece 'EAHR'. A prolific and sonically diverse producer, his balearic-flavoured remixes over the years for the likes of Antena and Max Berlin shines through on this one. Up next is the enigmatic Panoram, a shop favourite since his brilliant 'Accents' 12" arrived back in 2012. The lysergic 'Alpha Marmara' hits all the right spots once again.

On the b-side edit-masters and rare record connaisseurs Psychemagik contribute the string-laden 'Triumph Of The Gods', an ambitious Axelrod-esque modern funk gem. Finally, Alex Egan resurrects his work as The Draughtsman one last time with the previously unreleased track 'Fade To Green' - a deep, atmospheric house/techno cut recorded during the same 2010/11 sessions as his '1694 EP'.

Off the back of their sold out album, Daniele Baldelli & DJ Rocca are set to release a limited run 12" featuring remixes of the highest order. 'Complotto Geometrico', 'Space Scribble' & 'A TV Show' are the tracks of choice, remixed by none other than Andy Weatherall, Prins Thomas and Luke Solomon respectively.

The Weatherall remix initiates with a gentle bounce. The synth lines begin to peak and trough whilst back-drafted guitar riffs ring home around the affected vocal sample that oozes in. A subtle cybernetic atmosphere builds around the melodic rhythm which in turn ebbs and flows through out. It’s seeping with that Weatherall magic, making it perfect for any time of night. 
After his previous collaborations with Lindstrom et. al. we we're very excited to see what Prins Thomas would conjure up for this remix. Cosmic energy instantly emanates from the mix, giving a lighter vibe to the melodic depth that the Weatherall mix delivered. It boasts slightly more acidic elements that switch the dancefloor mentality from 'steady groover' to 'floor-mover.'

To finish, Luke Solomon provides a weirdo-disco rendition, full of elastic synth work, a bumping house groove and plenty of raw soul. Probably the more energetic of the three, Solomon proves that he deserves his place as Disco House royalty.

DJ Rocca is a producer and musician. He started to produce in late 90s working on some drum&bass and breakbeat singles as Maffia Soundsystem from the same name club in Italy, where he was the main resident DJ. In his career DJ Rocca has collaborated with Howie B, Pressure Drop, Zed Bias, Dimitri From Paris, Chris Coco, Daniele Baldelli and Jazzanova producing singles, remixes and albums for some of the best European labels as Sonar Kollektiv, Compost, Classic, Rekids, Skint, Hell Yeah, Rebirth, Internasjonal, Futureboogie Recordings, !K7, Deep Freeze, Tirk, International Feel, Defected, Skint, Gomma, Rotters Golf Club, Faze Action Recordings.
DJ Rocca works with Dimitri From Paris and Daniele Baldelli. With the legendary Dimitri From Paris he has given voice to various projects: a new electro-disco act entitled “Erodiscotique” with an album on Japanese “BBQ” label, four huge EP’s on “Gomma” and “Hell Yeah” records, various remixes and some tracks included in two compilations respectively entitled Knights Of The Playboy Mansions, mixed by Dimitri From Paris and Bob Sinclair, and Back In The House, mixed by Dimitri; both compilations are released by Defected records.
With Daniele Baldelli, DJ Rocca has released two albums, “Podalirius” in 2012 and “Quagga” in 2017, in addition to some 12″ on “Is It Balearic?”, "Rogue Cat Sounds", “Nein Records” and "File Under Disco".
With the award-winning jazz musician Franco D’Andrea he has formed the Electric Tree Project, a contemporary music trio, hovering between jazz and electronics, with a double album released in April 2016 by Parco Della Musica Records, defined as record of the month for the magazine Musica Jazz (June 2016). The collaboration with such a great name of the jazz scene, moves on with the realization of an octet and the production of a new album entitled “Intervals I” and "Intervals II", recorded live at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.
As a producer, DJ Rocca is also part of Ajello (with Taver), Supersonic Lovers (with Marcello Giordani) and Crimea X (with Jukka Reverberi). He has remixed big names such as Oliver Koletzki, Luke Solomon, Blaze, Isolee, Pete Herbert, Bjorn Torske, Chris Coco, Dimitri From Paris, Andrew Weatherall, Justin Robertson, Soul Clap.
DJ Rocca also runs his own label: “Danny Was A Drag King” and releases music for artists like Ajello, Supersonic Lovers, Luminodisco, Verdo, Marcello Giordani and Hard Ton.
In 2010, with the project DJ Rocca and 5th Suite, he reached the top of the dance charts in Brazil, with the huge track “Party Bobba”.
His DJ set are pure eclecticism filling club dance floors & festival tents around the world from UK, to Norway, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Austria, France, Switzerland, Finland, Czech Republic, Turkey, China, USA, Japan and Brazil.
