Shawn Michael McCarty, known professionally as DJ Shawn Michael, is an American DJ residing in Las Vegas, NV. Michael became interested in music as a child. In the late 90s, Michael began Dee-Jaying for his local High School Dances using his father’s guitar P.A. along with 2 technic 1200 turntables. 

Michael began dee jaying in clubs in Louisville, KY and joined the band The NightB4 in 2005. He left the group in 2007 and focused on a career as a solo DJ. In 2009, he accepted a contract to perform weekly at Entertainment Concept Facilities nationally and was also booking private events for celebs such as Khloe Kardashian, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, and more. After he became lead talent at Angel’s Rock bar in 2008, his career skyrocketed with the combination of shock deejay performances mixing rock mashups and self-produced beats. His wild performances included surprise moments such as taking a punch in the stomach on stage from UFC legend Chuck Liddell for a derby bit, or the famous hands-on fire incident of 2011 where he Deejayed with his hands on fire. 

In 2015 Shawn began working professionally at large capacity events and with multiple FM radio affiliates. Michaels became the travelling announcer for the MMA company Revolution Fight League, Michael hosted the Befuddled Festival with Pauly Shore in 2015, the Harley Davidson Bike Fest for St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in 2016.  Michaels headlined the largest attended Halloween Night in the history of Fourth Street Live the same year in Louisville, KY.

Shawn Michael travelled to Panama City Beach Florida for Spring Break 2018 where he hosted Midday Mayhem Pool Parties at the infamous Club La Vela. This was the final year of the venue’s legendary existence. Michael’s brought in industry talent to perform such as Boregore, Yo Gotti, Famous Dex, Mike Jones, and more.  In 2019, Shawn Michael moved to San Diego California and began working exclusively with Entercom Media. His mix production, vocals, and concepts were featured on 103.7 KSON, Sunny 98.1 San Diego, KYRC Sacramento for the 5 o’clock traffic Jam, and featured on various other media owned stations and events. 

In 2021 after the pandemic, Shawn Michael moved back to Las Vegas, Nevada and began working on his passion project, Damaged Beats, Vol. 1. The Damaged Beats albums are combinational live produced electronica music accompanied with Video and a light show. The project was announced as a 3-part series that will accompany the Damaged Beats Tour planned for late 2023.
