Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia aka SIT conclude their Sideways trilogy with three dancefloor oriented tracks, meant to awake different feelings in each one of us. The sample embroidery molded into the pure acid form of Angels will leave us smiling in wonder. The fast paced scratch theme from Reconnect may satisfy our dancing hunger, or we can just lose ourselves into the myriad filtered bits of Shadow, with its breaks sequence as our only guiding path.

This is the last piece of the Sideways’ puzzle, when the last droplets of energy left inside our bodies, after this 15 tracks long analog ride, are spent for seizing the present. The closing moment, when the curtain falls and our minds are still trying to decipher the hidden message. A message that points out to the diversity of electronic music envisioned through SIT's creative touch.

Wir freuen uns, euch heute eine DJane aus Marburg vorstellen zu können, die uns im vergangenen Jahr immer wieder mit ihren vielseitigen Sets überzeugt hat und in unserer Serie auf keinen Fall fehlen darf.

Interview:

Wie und wann bist du zur Elektronischen Musik gekommen?

Anfänglich durch meine Mom. Da habe ich hier und da mal alte CDs oder Platten geklaut und diese dann heimlich gehört. So richtig gefunkt hat es dann während meines Auslandssemesters in Istanbul etwa 2012. Da bin ich zufällig mal auf einem Open Air in dem größten Park der Stadt gelandet und habe dort die ganze Nacht lang zu Solomun und co getanzt. 

Welche Musikalischen Momente sind dir besonders in Erinnerung geblieben? 

Die schönsten sind bisher immer dann entstanden, wenn ich ein Closing gespielt habe. Egal, ob auf einem Open Air im Wald oder in einer kleinen Bar. Ich liebe diese besondere Atmosphäre und die freudestrahlenden Gesichter, in die man dann blicken kann. Auf einer Party von Coudcuckooland habe ich mit einem Kumpel zusammen das Closing in einer kleinen runtergerockten Bar gespielt. Da sind wir beim letzten Track hinter dem DJ Pult weg und haben uns zu unseren tanzenden Freunden gesellt- auch so als Statement. Da lagen wir uns alle in den Armen und unsere Freunde haben mit Konfetti um sich geworfen, applaudiert und laut gepfiffen! Da bekomm ich wieder strahlende Augen und werde total euphorisch. 

Wo konnte man dich bisher antreffen? 

An der Nordsee als auch in der Nähe der Alpen, wie z.B. im Harry Klein in München. In der Hauptstadt war ich Ende Februar im Keller in Neuköln unterwegs und natürlich auch in & um Marburg.

Gibt es Zukunftspläne? 

Auf jeden Fall ins Produzieren reinfuchsen und mit anderen inspirierenden Künstler*innen zusammenarbeiten. Im Sommer stehen auch wieder ein paar Auftritte an. In der Hauptstadt, bei Wetzlar und tatsächlich auch mein erster europäischer Gig in Portugal!

Fur Coat return to Crosstown Rebels - the label that launched and empowered them to grow into the major techno force we know today, with their ’Numbers EP, featuring a remix from US native Vin Sol. This is music that keeps you guessing. Initially it appears dark and forceful, and suddenly a sound appears that results in a smile, a warm feeling that only the highest level of production can deliver.

Fur Coat’s schedule is unrelenting. The last couple of months involving a standout set at DGTL Festival, releasing on Watergate Records, remixing Nicole Moudaber & Skin on Mood Records, combined with numerous festival appearances over the Summer. Resident of the popular night Club Lonely in San Francisco, Vin Sol, founded an imprint with the same title earlier this year. A self confessed lover of the drum machine and regularly collaborating with Matrixxman, Sol has previously released on Soo Wavey, Clone Jack for Daze and Delft among others.

I love making sets for people to enjoy in their cars, on their mobiles and in their homes, and I do a lot of those… But then came Trancentral, with a request to make a different kind of mix, one that would surprise, challenge and take the listener to territories he wouldn’t expect from me. The result is a two hours journey from 90 to 180 BPM, covering a lot of styles and genres, from abstract downbeat electronica, ambient, dub and retrowave, to Zenonesque prog, disco psy, night time forest and even some hi-tech spice on top of it all. My goal was to have a good flow between all of this, and to keep it interesting, groovy, and most importantly, always psychedelic. I hope you enjoy the ride.
