Die 90er – das Jahrzehnt von Boybands und Baywatch, von Gameboy und Playstation, von Love Parade und After Hour auf dem Binger Rochusberg! Eine Zeit, in der „No Limit“ nicht nur ein erfolgreicher Eurodance-Song wurde, sondern auch eine Devise. Eine Zeit, in der man mit Hits wie „Barbie Girl“ oder „1, 2, Polizei“ die Spitze der Charts erklimmen konnte. Eine Zeit, in der man mit Kapuzenpulli, Karohose und gelb gefärbten Haaren sexy war. Eine Zeit, in der uns Kurt Cobain, Lady Di oder auch River Phoenix verließen. Und eine Zeit, in der Deutschland letztmalig Fußballweltmeister wurde.

Nach dem überwältigenden Erfolg im vergangenen Jahr ist am 26. April wieder Zeit für Spirit Of The 90s! In festivalähnlicher Atmosphäre wird das Hofgut Rheingrafenstein auf dem Bad Kreuznacher Kuhberg mit 13 Acts - bestehend aus 14 DJs und Live-Band aus der Nahe-Region, Rheinhessen und dem Rhein-Main-Gebiet - auf zwei Floors erneut dem besonderen Feeling dieses prägenden Jahrzehnts erliegen.

Während auf dem Techno-Floor die Frankfurter Dj-Legende Talla 2XLC sowie der Bad Homburger Ulli Brenner (seinerzeit auch als Produzent der Eurodance-Formation „La Bouche“ um die inzwischen verstorbene Sängerin Melanie Thornton aktiv) als Headliner die Raver unter den Besuchern in den Geist von „Love, Peace & Unity“ versetzen, wird mit Closer aus Wöllstein erstmals eine Band den Charts-Floor mit Live-Musik rocken. Der musikalische Rahmen ist somit geschaffen, zum vollkommenen 90er-Feeling jedoch tragen die Besucher selbst bei. Für sie gilt:

Rush Hour 082 comes direct from Australia where Christopher Lawrence is on the Pharmacy: Phase 4 tour. This episode is jam packed with Pharmacy tracks Christopher is playing on tour and the response has been amazing from Down Under. Track of the Month goes to Orbiteck - The Wicked Rabbit Movement (Fergie & Sadrian Remix), plus there's new tunes from Pharmacy's Microsis, tinY, Frost Raven, Jens Jakob, Lamat and Daniel Lesden. This month's guest mix comes from Daniel Lesden, whose remix of Christopher Lawrence & Jonathan Allyn latest single The Human Element on Pharmacy Music spent several weeks in Beatport's Top 20 singles chart. 

Daniel Lesden has solidified his sound in recent years and is a name that is rapidly rising through the ranks and and is certainly definitely respected by his peers. His music can best be described as atmospheric and melodic, but at same time dancefloor orientated Progressive Psy Trance influenced by his love of the universe and journey of discovery. He has been meticulous in his preparations over the last year for his debut album ‘Chronicles Of The Universe’. With a remix of John 00 Fleming’s forthcoming single already in the pipeline, as well as three new EP’s all to be released on J00F Recording in 2014 the backing of such a powerful label proves Daniel has something special and what can only be described as an explosive journey ahead of him. Described as "A great up and coming psy producer!” by Simon Patterson, he began his professional career in the music scene in 2012 with his first release ‘Contact’ being snapped up by Ovnimoon Records and spent a number of weeks in the ‘Beatport PsyTrance Release 100’, finally holding firm at #7.  A remix of another of the heavyweights of the Psy Trance scene followed this with Ace Ventura’s monumental ‘Presence’, unleashing a moretechie sound on this remix that is certain to smash any dancefloor around the world.

Astrix - Trance For Nations///011 [FREE DOWNLOAD]

dj Smiley Mike was the name given to me by the late 90s underground trance scene in and around Vancouver. By the time I started to DJ in '94, I had already been frequenting Vancouver's underground warehouse parties for a few years. Just as it was back then, I have a fierce passion for electronic music and especially trance.

In the mid-to-late 90s I became involved with a group loosely known as The Spirit Circle, DJing at various underground parties and outdoor gatherings, many of which were set up in the forests around Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton. My musical taste covered a broad range of trance, but my favourite style is still that middle ground where driving hard, acid-lined trance meets with epic breakdowns and builds. 

After first DJing for CiTR in 1994, I returned in 2001 to launch Trancendance, my own weekly radio show dedicated entirely to trance. The show is unique in that it still broadcasts live over FM airwaves, in addition to Internet stream and podcast. Now in its 17th year, listenership has spread internationally with a community of over 49,000 fans and large followings in Mexico, India, Europe and South America. 

Today, I play mainly progressive and full on psytrance. My music library has gone digital, but I still play on Technics 1200s with vinyl control records. I attack every mix as though it were a live mashup, constantly creating new sounds with the help of live effects and samples.
