With the release of his new double album Between the Candle and the Star Ophidian returns to his roots. Between the Candle and the Star is the third Ophidian-album. Previous albums featured sidesteps to other genres, but this time the conscious decision was made to stick to the pure, raw hardcore with which he made his name in the past decennium.

The album title refers to the place humans inhabit in the universe. Ophidian: "The candle is a tiny light, the star the largest we know. We exist somewhere in between." For this album he has teamed up with known acts like Ruffneck, Tapage and The Outside Agency, but also spent quality studio time with new collaborators like Tha Playah and Minckz.

Also featured are remixes of his tracks by among others Rude Awakening and The Viper. He himself worked on remixes for DJ Promo, Angel and Miss Hysteria. On the album, disc 1 features mainly the brand new songs and collabs, and disc 2 is a collection of the remixes and tracks recently released on other labels.

Très vite propulsé dans le monde underground des raves, Specimen a vécu bercé de Dj tels que Woody Mc Bride, Emmanuel top, Lunatic Asylum.
1999, Astropolis. Sous les Beats Hard-Core endiablés de Manu le Malin, Specimen, fasciné, se découvre une passion pour le Mix.
Dès lors, il passe son temps entre les platines et Tekshop pour dénicher des perles Hard Core, bien lourdes et hypnotiques. Peu à peu, il prend goût à jouer de la Techno et de L'Electro. 
A force de passion et de travail, il enchaîne les dates et impose son style, sa signature musicale.
2004, il rejoint le label Hardcore Ark Aik et va jouer aux côtés d'artistes comme Ybrid , jeff mills , Speedyq's, Armaguet nad,Manu le Malin, Dr macabre, Laurent Ho, Fist of fury, Ak47, Daisy et tant d'autres.
Véritablement habité, Specimen séduit par sa passion et sa facilité à magnétiser un public de plus en plus large.
11 ans plus tard, il enflamme le dance Floor du tremplin Astropolis, le festival qui lui avait insufflé ses envies de mix. Il sort son premier track en featuring avec Ybrid sur le label Watt Hellz records debut 2018.
Aujourd'hui, il nous fait vibrer sur des bassline Electro,Techno,Hardcore, sans jamais oublier où il a puisé son inspiration pour notre plus grand plaisir !
