Have you ever heard of NGC 3582? This is the modern term for the space nebula around Argo, which was discovered almost 200 years ago by the astronomer John Herschel. Floating particles and hovering material condense in its gloomy atmosphere and give birth to young stars. Some of them are many times larger than our sun, but also much more unstable. Many die again soon after their birth in spectacular supernovae that we can observe from planet earth. Clarence Rise is our monthly adept, offering sonic explorations that reach out to these unique places in our galaxy.

Clarence Rise is a french Deep Techno producer and DJ, whose sometimes dark but always introspective music draws on his deep connection with nature and the twists and turns of the psyche. His compositions combine complex rhythmics with organic sound design, diving listeners in hypnotic, immersive soundscapes. He creates textured, crackling, sometimes syncopated techno, while also exploring the depths of Deep DnB and Tribal sounds. His work is a constant quest for raw emotion and subtle intensity, offering experiences both mysterious and captivating, shaped to resonate as much in clubs as in the intimacy of personal listening.

For this “Dynamic Spheres” edition, Clarence has woven together some floating tunes from his personal nebula, ranging from ethnic desert rhythms to stellar and deep, melancholic breaks. He does this with impeccable mixing skills, bringing together different kinds of leftfield vibes that give you an idea of how newborn stars emerge from cosmic dust.

Making his debut at the festival, Kohra took over The Quarry stage - where pristine sound, immersive visuals, and an electric atmosphere set the tone. His set channelled a sound both grounded and expansive—a reflection of his roots, shared with a global dancefloor.

The Swamp | Mo:Dem Festival
Styles change and vary but concept and idea stay the same; psychedelic and trippy music for mind and body.

The Swamp stage is nestled on Mo:Dem's island. A hottest and most memorable part of the festival's location is home to Progressive, Techno and other various styles of music. With PSYCHEDELIC as only common denominator and DANCE as the main philosophy behind it.

The idea behind The Swamp was to generate counterbalance to the faster and heavier musical styles presented at The Hive. Creating an 'alternative stage' wasn’t our intention. Rather we imagined The Swamp as the extension of the same psychedelic dance experience. Possibility to select between artists coming from a wide spectrum of psychedelic music gave us an opportunity to succeed in our plan. As Swamp literally and figuratively means diversity and variety, this was set as the main guideline for this stage in the future.

He was raised up by parents who love music deeply, and he got used to listen to various kinds of music genre. Since 1997, He started to perform his music band activities as guitarist and vocalist. In additionally, He continued to release his original songs from several record labels energetically. And then, He started to shift his music career to DJ style with Electronica / Experimental mainly around 2000. In a short time after that, He started to be settled into Deep house / Progressive / Techno music mainly as his style. Since then, His emotional and lyrical drive DJ groove had fascinated many music freaks. Besides, His strong point as DJ is that he also can take a free style to do DJ by Chill out music like Barearic Disco / Ambient music. So, He had been in charge as a music selector at restaurant, cafe space, art gallery, fashion show in his career as well. His career is consisting by DJ activities he has done at main clubs of Tokyo also with various different backgrounds. His music style is really wide as like he does DJ with improvisational guitar play and live set by vocal sampling, He had appeared on such big festivals that are ‘Hacienda Oiso Festival’, ‘Audio Festival’. Besides, He had supported many DJs who came to Japan and he played with them in his career so many times. His DJ activities are extending to underground venue ‘Bar Oath’ that got a 8th rank in 20 of the world’s best small clubs from overground events like that are ‘Space Ibiza 25th anniversary’ and ‘Keith Haring 55th birth anniversary event’. Since 2013, He started to organize his own event ‘Brightness’ with a conception as ‘It’s a wonderful holiday’.The event attracted many people who had sympathized and made enthusiastic fans increased immediately by his unique organization ways for special conceptions of music, location, and decoration. In 2015, More than 1000 people came to ‘Brightness’ he organized just only by local artists. His party is preeminent here in Tokyo music scene apparently. In 2016, he successfully completed a DJ tour in Asia, and in 2019, he will be touring France, the UK and Germany for 40 days to get a resounding response everywhere. In particular, his live performances in Marseille, France and Hamburg, Germany, have been highly praised by the local music industry and he has begun to receive many offers from overseas countries.In the same year, he started his own solo project, REWLOOLA, and is currently working on an album.A new project ‘LUIDA’ that was established by 3 different organization teams ( Brightness / THE GUEST HOUSE / Greyhound ) who are also sworn friends, is getting many attentions with a summer resort conception by innovative ideas. In 2020, we will launch "LUIDA TV", a video culture media to promote Japanese culture from Japan to the world.
