British singer-songwriter RAYE shines as one of the brightest stars in music today, boasting eight Top 20 UK singles, 5 Billion global streams, an Ivor Novello Award, and a track record of writing for the industry’s biggest names. Since her debut in 2014, RAYE has undergone a remarkable journey to stardom. Nominated for a record-breaking seven 2024 BRIT Awards – the most of any artist in one year – her long-awaited independent debut album “My 21st Century Blues” made an immediate impact. As a welcome result of her self-fulfilling work, RAYE unknowingly created the song that became synonymous with 2023. This year, she performs her “My 21st Century Symphony” to a sold-out crowd of 20,000 at The O2 Arena prior to making her debut at Coachella. After playing and owning the pop game, RAYE bet on herself and won.

Masala Soundsystem is a Warsaw-based collective founded in 2002. It spectacularly collides the world of traditional instruments and melodies from around the world with modern drum loops, deep bass and socially conscious street poetry (in Polish and English). Masala's music crosses the genre boundaries, reaching for punk fury, dancey electronics, hip-hop expression, dub depth or ethnic mysticism - depending on the needs of the given tune. The band consists of virtuosos in their fields, coming from seemingly distant musical worlds - such as folk and ethnic music, hip-hop and modern electronica. However, their joint artistic activity turns out to play in perfect harmony, and combines into a fascinating whole. The result of Masala's activity is 10+ LPs and EPs, a number of singles and over 1000 concerts, events and radio broadcasts - including performances at the largest and most prestigious festivals in Poland, as well as several dozen of performances abroad: from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, through Germany, France and Sweden, to South Korea, India and Afghanistan.

Sola Rosa, the long-running project of New Zealand producer Andrew Spraggon, has never lacked stylistic ambition. Over the past two decades, he's taken an omnivorous approach to genre—soul, R&B, funk, jazz, hip-hop, and the occasional nod to pop—all filtered through a lens that favours polish and warmth over flash. It’s music that feels lived-in rather than lab-engineered.

Since winning Best Electronic Release at the 2001 NZ Music Awards for Solarized, Spraggon has quietly built an international rep. There’ve been remixes from Tall Black Guy, Hermitude and DJ Vadim; sets at Secret Garden Party and Green Man; praise from Rolling Stone, Mojo, and more. Yet he remains a bit of a secret—an underground mainstay rather than a household name.

The 2020 LP Chasing The Sun marked a return after five years and proved there was still plenty left in the tank. Now, 25 years into the Sola Rosa journey, comes New Tomorrows: a taut, considered EP that feels less like a statement and more like a bridge between chapters. The collaborators remain—singers, writers, players from both sides of the Tasman—but there’s a quiet sense of closure. A drawing of breath before something sharper.
That “something” is already coming: a new album lands later this year, with Spraggon stepping further into the foreground. Watch this space.
