Welcome to A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 25 - Winter 2013, the first in a series of all new adventures taking you (the listener) on a voyage through the seasons and sound. I feel that each season has its own unique sound, a sub-genre that provides an aural feel of what our other senses experience.

As YOU all know, we are celebrating the 25th Session of A Complete Balearic Journey this month . . . ! ! ! My good friend DJ Mark Vallese will be providing a special guest spot mix for the 25th Session which will be posted on Wednesday January 16, 2013. DJ Mark Vallese has over 35 years of experience, performed at LEGENDARY nightclubs across the United States, and played some of the largest events including worldwide. WE are quite privileged to have this incredible artist / DJ bringing his signature sound to A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 25 - Winter 2013. DJ Mark Vallese will be mixing the first hour and I will be mixing the second.

The 25th Session of A Complete Balearic Journey also has a much deeper meaning. When WE began on nearly two years ago with A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 1 - Winter 2011, I had my doubts (serious ones at that). I hadn't mixed anything that I would consider worthy of public performance since 2006. Therefore this was quite an adventure to undertake, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much of a return. When I go back and listen to the early mixes I hear an artist who is unsure, nervous, and hell bent on pleasing his audience. I'm always hesitant to listen to my mixes since I am WAY to critical of my work, as I suppose most artists are. Upon listening to my mixes (against my better judgment) from the later part of 2012, I noticed something distinctly different. They were works of incredible beauty, unexpected awe, and unexpected amazement. I now have absolutely no doubt on what I am capable of delivering, and that my FANS are one of the best feelings I have experienced. Though as I always write, it is YOU (each and every one) that makes what I do possible. That keeps A Complete Balearic Journey getting bigger and better. That makes The Official DJ WOLF e. Fan Page what is it and where it is most definitely headed. To write that I don't get much out of this would be false, but the fact is YOU make it work, push me to give more, and support me when I don't feel at all special and my dreams seem farther away than ever. 

Therefore, Session 25 is my gift to you, along with all the Winter 2013 sessions which will now be two hours in length. I love YOU and THANK YOU from my heart and soul. 

WINTER - My third favorite season, and one that I've grown to love, for Winter possesses a special magic all its own. My relationship with Winter was (for many years) quite difficult. For the majority of my life, Winter was the season of depression. I dreaded its on-coming and dark days reaching into the very depths of my soul. The Sun had gone, taking my light with it. Countless days spent in bed under the covers, so many layers of covers; perhaps my protection against the world outside those frozen windows. My accomplishments consisted of sleeping, eating, and watching the most depressing DVD's that I could find (though not always in that order). These lyrics describe the feeling better than I can: "Where are we . . . ? What the hell is going on . . . ? The dust has only just begun to form, Crop circles in the carpet, Sinking feeling . . ." - Imogen Heap (Hide & Seek). 

OUR journey begins on a January evening the first sliver of a New Moon illuminating an obsidian sky full of stars. All is silent on this cold night so far away from OUR magic island, yet so perfect in its own special way. Forget the clubs, it's much better to curl up next to a roaring fire and put on some music. The only music that has the ability to take YOU back to that special place, where nights lasted forever and Summer never ended. HOUSE, progressive HOUSE and progressive TRANCE form the backdrop to OUR journey.

DJ WOLF e. has an incredible array of musical styles under his belt and a love for many, though "A COMPLETE BALEARIC JOURNEY" is where his passion lies and it shows in the eloquence and production of each session. DJ WOLF e. takes you on a complete musical journey, much like climbing a mountain, beginning at the bottom, slowly ascending, reaching the peak and experiencing the total euphoria that naturally follows, then making a slow descent back to the base, to the bottom where the journey began and the party continues. An incredible asset to the EDM community and a dedicated producer of an extraordinary podcast featuring the beauty of Balearic HOUSE and Balearic TRANCE mixed and arranged by DJ WOLF e. He views himself as an artist or performer with his dancers’ being an audience. He believes in taking that "audience" on a journey, using sound and other forms of multimedia to elicit the highest and most intense of emotional responses. Possessing an innate ability to "feel" the music and sense the energy of his audience, DJ WOLF e. is quite literally able to alter the consciousness of his dancers. He feels this requires an extraordinary amount of effort, concentration and time; therefore it is not an easy feat to accomplish. Though when accomplished, DJ WOLF e. has created vivid tapestries of sound, emotion, and pure magic. DJ WOLF e. currently has a fan base that reaches nearly 80 countries; quite a large accomplishment for someone who's only been playing TRANCE since 2011. He has received numerous accolades from his fans, though one in particular stands out: "I didn't know TRANCE legends came from Holland, MI." Yes, they certainly do . . .

DJ WOLF e. knew instantly in 1986 when at the age of seventeen he had his first nightclub experience, and that he wanted a career as an artist. He began his career in San Francisco during the early 90's spinning alternative music at Cocktails - The Pit (a legendary South of Market nightclub) on Monday nights for "Krash Klub." After a ten year absence from performing, he was employed at The Dunes Resort in Douglas, MI. (2005 - 2007) as their lighting designer and technician. He has once again devoted his life to a dream and wish that began nearly thirty years ago. 
MUSIC is my life and my love; above all else, MUSIC is everything to me. MUSIC has in more ways than I can explain helped me to become exactly what and who I am. MUSIC has (more times than I can count) literally saved my life. MUSIC is and will always be there for me, often when no one or nothing else is or has been.
