Burning Man and its community have profoundly impacted us as artists for over seven years. Both Dave and I, Replicah, have been musicians since childhood, and it was Burning Man’s 365-day community that inspired us to become DJs during the pandemic.

After three years of playing at Burning Man camps, we had our debut on the Polaris Art Car in Deep Playa this year—a truly magical Friday morning. As we approached, the Polaris Art Car (https://www.instagram.com/polaristheartcar/) emerged from the night and dust like a rising star, meeting us and our Electric Cheese Land camp family, who were serving Swiss fondue out on the Deep Playa (check them out at https://www.instagram.com/electric_cheese_land/) during our set. The gathering took place at the Polychroma Art Installation (Rainbow) by In Theory Art Collective (https://www.instagram.com/in_theory_art/).

We played from the last dark moments of night into the magical awakening of the sun, reaching that peak moment as daylight broke, flooding Deep Playa with intense feelings. Anyone who’s been to Burning Man knows that profound moment. Our set was crafted as a journey—from the dark, intense force of a Burning Man night to the dawn of a new day and the magic of feeling truly alive, connected with every soul across the desert and the world.

ABOUT:BLANK - Polaris Art Car - Burning Man 2024

In the early days of their legendary gatherings within the Burning Man community, DJs were rare in their circle. Instead of relying on an iPhone and a UE Boom, Replicah and Dave the Samurai—together known as ABOUT:BLANK—took the plunge, bought their first Pioneer controller, and began their journey. Their debut set at FAB in 2020 marked the start, drawing on Replicah’s experience as a composer, songwriter, and producer since her teenage years, alongside Dave’s multi-instrumental talents. They quickly found their rhythm as a DJ duo.

They couldn’t have imagined what lay ahead. Today, their community has flourished, hosting large-scale events filled with boundless creativity and inspiring artists. During lockdown, their need for connection led them to live stream, turning living rooms into virtual dance floors and bringing the party to a global audience via Stream and VR.

Their sets flow between tech house, indie dance, playa tech, and techno, blending mystical, heavy vibes with electrifying, sexy energy. 
Fans describe their sound as “where rainbow meets fire,” full of humor and unforgettable tracks.
