This musical journey of the soul is a living prayer, and ecstatic vision experience, so please enter the vision with Desert Raven and all of us here at Mystic Vision.

Desert Raven says that suffering in life can produce great emotional and spiritual and mental healing and growth, in a mystical transformation of the pain and woundedness and death into new life.

The passing of his brother in early 2024 is something that he says catalyzed a massive new phase of personal growth and healing, and in a strange, but holy way, help complete a long period of new growth in which he was becoming tried and tested in the fire of life and being given a deeper, much more mystical daily approach to life, with prayer and time spend descending deeply into his heart, sinking even deeper into God.  He began to experience and incredibly new wave of love, for God, for himself, and for others, especially his family.

Love is the mystical answer.

In this growth in the fire, Desert Raven felt that this message and sounds purified and grew very powerful in the spiritual sense.  It liberated him in the mind, in order to dive deeper and soar higher in the spirit, in order to organically and healthfully express his mixed emotions of sadness, joy, anger, while still maintaining a humble sense of living and seeking the betterment of the mankind.  Suffering and loss can give great music growth and incredible, miraculous expression in art.  Desert Raven feels this certainly happened to him.

This is also what gave him the vision for the Mystical Vision podcast.

Now, Desert Raven has forsaken the world and is limited, empty way, and instead embracing the mystlcal path, and let the dynamic spiritual energies of God flow through him naturally and powerfully.

A mystical music with a message of hope, light, courage, life, and love.

For God is love, and love is the most powerful of the universe.

Finally, in his own words, the need for him and other mystical musicians to unite is more important that ever, and this is his message:

You may find ice and fire exist simultaneously, glowing light and hope fading in through darkness and sadness, or occasional thorns out of tranquility in both his tracks and sets. It shows his belief in the balance of the universe. 

He has released productions on labels like Cafe de Anatolia, Cosmovision, Kosa, Shango and so on. At the end of 2023, he moved to Shanghai and started to get the chance to support accomplished artists such as Franca, MAGA, Sparrow & Barbossa, and many more.

Here we see Desert Raven getting back ALL THE WAY into his reggae/dub roots and fusing that blessed, sacred sound into many genres and styles and energies and grooves, from psy to downtempo to house to tech, with his usual rich pallet of ethno-organic traditional sounds and live instrumentals.

Where we were, where we are, where we will be... these questions are relevant to life on the physical planet earth, but not important in the great eternal mystical sense.  In the mystical journey, we transcend the limitations of this earthly existence and enter the spiritual journey that takes us deep, far, and wide, far beyond mortal bodies.  Our spirits are eternal, and we must seek the eternal light, not sink into eternal darkness.

MYSTICAL VISION - Chpt 5 - Desert Raven - Mystical Dub

Finally spring had arrived in the witch’s forest. The winter season had been very wet and windy since mid-October and lasted through the end of April. But then suddenly in early May, the sun broke through the clouds, the temperatures got very mild and in a matter of days, the whole forest saw an explosion of flowers. Especially the central clearing turned into a fairy meadow, full of blue bells, wild garlic and forest anemones.
Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10 year-old witch apprentice) danced through the blooming forest and sang their most beautiful songs. This was easily the most energetic spring awakening they had ever experienced in the forest.
The next morning, Falke witnessed a little miracle happening in the central clearing. She saw a little creature crawling out of the soil, kissing the sunlight for the very first time of its life : a cockchafer. The young girl took the fragile maybeetle into her hand and gave it a tender kiss. She noticed that this golden brown scarab beetle had antennae with 6 leaves, meaning it was a female. 
Falke ran towards Hekske to announce the great news of the awakening cockchafer. And by coincidence, Hekske was also observing a cockchafer near the northern edge of the forest, which was buzzing around a blossoming tree. As always happens with these bugs, a few moments later the buzzing stopped and the maybeetle fell from the sky, giving the witches some time to observe the beautiful beetle. They counted 7 leaves on the antennae, meaning that this beautiful bug was a male. 
Then Hekske got an idea. She uttered a size reduction spell so that both witches shrunk to the size of a cockchafer. This way, they could accompany the beetle on his way the clearing. This journey happened in a few dozens buzzing sprints which always ended with the beetle crashing down to earth. That’s just the way cockchafers travel around. Sometimes, the girls had to help the maybug back on his feet but he was very determined and always found new energy and courage to fly the next leg of his journey. Finally, at dusk time they arrived at the clearing where they were just in time to witness a glorious sunset. They kissed their friend the cockchafer goodbye. After that, the witches closed their eyes and sensed the strong, wild energy of the spring forest. 
They stayed around until it had become fully dark, and enjoyed the beauty of the crescent of the moon before retreating to their bed of moss, where they quicky drifted away into a deep, blissful sleep.

∆ N D ∆ R ∆ is a master storyteller, and, so, should we expect anything less than a deeply moving and powerful story that comes to life the moment we press play? While we KNOW it is coming, we still cannot resist it.  It sinks in, touching our souls to the core.  This particular journey is a contrast of light and dark, with many shadows, and the colors we see are those illuminated by the soft, warm light of oil lamps and candles in some far away land, full of old bazaars and the bustle of the marketplace, mystical mountain tops, and sacred temples.  With sounds from India, Persia, the Balkans, the Middle East, and other regions, you can smell the aroma of spices and incense drifting through the air, just as the sacred spirit of prayer floats and ascends to the heavens.  It is time to get deeply lost so that we can truly find ourselves and the revelation within the mystery.

Apollo fell madly in love with Daphne, while she, struck by an arrow from Eros with the exact opposite effect, became insensitive to this love. When Apollo tried to rape Daphne, she fled. Exhausted by Apollo's pursuit, she begged her father Peneios to change her form, which was so charming to Apollo. As a result, her limbs froze and she turned into a laurel tree. ✔️ What are your musical influences? 
We both come from different musical backgrounds, and only found each other when we both landed in the downtempo and - what was then called organic house - scene a couple of years ago. Mark started making techno music at quite a young age, en got his first success as a producer in that scene as well. Ed grew up as a hiphop head, was even a rapper for a few years, started going to pop/rock festivals when he was a bit older and only discovered the dance scene in his thirties. After he started dj'ing in 2020 music porduction quickly followed, and the connection with Mark lit a spark that resulted in many b2b's, a lot of joint productions and even some events.

✔️ What makes good "afterhour"?
For us the afterhours are about creating a soft landing without going to bed, because that landing takes hours and creates a vacuum between dancing and dissolving into the floor which you don't want to leave.

✔️ Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set? What was your experience of the set you recorded?
This set was recorded in The Noodle Lounge, a concept we came up with for festivals to create a space where people can wind down, relax, talk, and connect with each other and the music. And yes, eat noodles. We did the first edition ever at Bosburcht festival in The Netherlands last November and right before midnight on Saturday night we started a b2b with no end time. We took it al the way into the morning, to create that soft landing we love so much. Therefore it's the perfect afterhour set for us, that starts dark and deep and brings you all the way into the light. Of course there were moments we had to search for it, but we always found our way. It was magical to do a set like that, because we could fully rely on the flow we felt in that moment, instead of being directed by a timeframe that was set for us. And the most beautiful thing was that we kept seeing people come back in front of our dj booth, it was a safe haven for people that wanted to switch from high energy raving to moving with their eyes closed for a while.
