Bliz Nochi - I Was Born in the Night (Sangeet Remix) [Paradise Symbiosis]

In this Festival Frequency episode we can hear two mixes, the first by DJ AXEL and the second by DJ ORION, representing the soundscapes of FANTASIA FESTIVAL taking place July 7-9 in Umbria, Italy. Following the first mix, we will be chatting with Axel, who is also one of the founders of Fantasia, a little bit about the festival before listening to the second mood-making set. Axel is an electronic music DJ, producer, mainly of Psytrance, and an events planner, who after discovering the world of underground psytrance parties at a young age, quickly starts his own journey in it. In 2014 he founded the Freaky Circus crew, hosting and sharing the stage with artists from all over the world. Axel loves the day as well as the night, the sun as well as the moon, which is why his selections range from the darkest to the brightest sounds! After years attending festivals and free parties around Europe, with the intention of realising his ideal festival, in 2018 he founded the Fantàsia Festival project. DJ Orion also started his life adventure through the psytrance music world early on, and in 2008, he becomes a part of the Quarion tribe, a group of friends who already organizing parties, he starts playing and mixing, creating his own personality and music style.  leading him to play at many international parties all over Italy, where every time his set and music is greatly appreciated by the crowd.

Cosmicleaf Records presents KICK BONG with a studio mix showcasing the wide diversity in the artist's catalog. Franck aka Kick Bong is a musician, performer and composer born in Paris. In 1990 he formed his first band as a drummer. Signed with Barclay, he takes part in many concerts and tours in France and Europe. In 1995 he discovered electronic music in 2001, after which his compositions get released on compilations of various labels: Spirit Zone, Candyflip, Peak, Hoots, Chillcode, Cosmicleaf, Ultra Vista, Hadra, Ajana, Sonic Motion Blue Hour Sound. In 2009 he composed the music for websites Dior and Eden Park. Parallel, he mixes in many Paris clubs, such as Batofar, Triptych, Divan du Monde, Gibus, Glaz'art, Dame de Canton, Cabaret Sauvage, Machine du Moulin Rouge.

When speaking of Keinemusik as the performing unit featuring Rampa, &ME and Adam Port, one easily can assume the last months being quite momentous. Wherever you look on the globe, chances are one of their frenetically celebrated shows has been taking place there just recently. And the prospects of the upcoming months are looking even brighter. That’s where this highly anticipated new single comes in. Emotively reminiscing all the past touring memories and building up momentum for the ones to come, „Thandaza“ boils down the Keinemusik sentiment to the essence, shaping yet another one of those set-highlights that will turn heads and hips alike. At the age of 87, when asked about the lesson his long life had taught him, the philosopher Bertrand Russell had a simple, twofold message - one part being rational and the other moral. He advised us, who live long after his death, to consider all the facts, whether we like them or not, but above all to choose love over hate - to be tolerant and not antagonistic. In this field between facts and what we make of them, between cold logic and caring understanding, we are called to calm down, reflect and listen to our inner voice.

This EP is an invitation to do just that, be it at a festival, in nature or the comfort of our home. Warm and playful, powerful and intricate, arousing and soothing, it is a bridge between a open eyed summer dream and a vibrating dance floor; a slow melodic journey, whose fullness embraces us, while its tingling details call us on. Those chorus lines from one of the tracks in Schleichcast°51 speak for themselves, providing quite a fitting summary of the vibe this mixtape conveys. This set feels like sand between toes while licking ice-cream, like some nourishing sunscreen gently applied to soft and tanned skin, like those lighthearted days that never seem to end and when they finally do, you almost missed the darkness of the night because the sun rises so early. In other words: the perfect soundtrack for summer and a wonderful potpourri of multicolored electronica and acoustic music, around-the-world-rhythms paired with souly-jazzy tunes…and not to forget, some slow n’ smooth downtempo. Thank you so much dear @maltesar for creating this musical treat!

Ich bin Malte, Teil des 'Kollektiv Nachtkerze', komme aus Berlin und bin zwischen Wald, Havel und Tegeler See im Berliner Norden aufgewachsen. 

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Die natürliche Evolution des Aufwachsens in Berlin? Oft in Clubs und viele Freundschaften, die einen an die Teller stellen - wodurch ich glücklicherweise vor 9 Jahren zum Downtempo gefunden habe.

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert?
Skinshape, dessen neueste Platte ich mit Spannung erwarte, die Band Jembaa Groove, die ich endlich mal live sehen muss und meine Liebe zu den Wurzeln des ganz ganz langsamen Downtempos mit vielen organischen Elementen. In diesem Set habe ich mich mal daran probiert all diese Inspirationen zusammenfließen zu lassen.

>>Shout outs! Wer ist aktuell dein:e lieblings Künstler:in?
Ich bin auf der Fusion an der Freikörperküste zu den Klängen von den Jungs von Ali Dada aufgeweckt worden. Bin früher immer mal wieder über Edits von deren Tracks gestolpert, aber habe jetzt deren Live-Sounds lieben gelernt - Shout Out geht raus. Ein gute Portion Akustik-Love geht raus an die Tracks von @itsChristianHansen.

>>Was gefällt dir besonders an "langsamer" Musik?
Sie gibt mir den Raum mich in der Musik zu verlieren, abzuschalten und mich treiben zu lassen - ohne zu überfordern. Alle Elemente eines Tracks bekommen den Platz den sie verdienen und es findet sich meist ein ganz bestimmter Schlag Mensch auf den Tanzflächen der langsamen Musik zusammen - das verbindet und geht unter die Haut.

Very thankful to the Muumimaa crew to be invited back to @muumimaa to play on the Wednesday night this year's Borderland! 

The inspiration for the set came from the 3 months long sailing-trip from Turkey to Sweden that I just completed. Most of the song selection was done during sailing at night when all I had to keep me awake was the fullmoon and my music collection, and so I prepared a wonky full energy set for the rowdy and sweaty crowd that I was so much longing to meet after life at sea… There's few remixes of old familiar tracks in there (Beatles, Laruie Andersson, The Beloved) and overall a lot of vocals this time around. Perhaps it was that human closeness that I was longing for out there surrounded by the un-inhabitable ocean…

All in all it’s a high-energy set starting off with some attitude “Til my baby gets back” from Fulltone onwards into a few afro-house tracks including a remix of Uncle Waffles “Tanzania”, and then into a crescendo of some hypnotic techno tracks mixed with some more bouncy house tracks to keep the sweaty vibes going… Ending with a song from my childhood heroes - the KLF - who I actually think was burning a wooden man (and a million quid) way before burning man was a thing (check out what they did with “rites of MU”)… all onboard all onboard onboard! toot toot! hope you enjoyed! :-)
