This Friday Feel Good Mix represents a taste of the West Coast Hip Hop. This weekend, Ice-T is releasing his Documentary Movie, “Something From Nothing: The Art of Hip Hop”. In the 80′s, the record industry thought this Hip Hop music was going to fade out. It is funny how the turntable turn. Hip Hop has changed the world and it is in everything we do today. The way we Dance, Dress, Act, Talk, etc.., It’s all about Hip Hop. I love the fact that I grew up in the 80′s and witness Hip Hop evolved. I Love Hip Hop, New and Old. I like the fact that Ice-T tapped into the roots of Hip Hop and captured the true essence of the artist. I just hope that the young generation will appreciate the art and the talent and not destroy it by making it Pop, but I think it’s too late for that. Here is a caption of Ice-T documentary:

The Art of Rap provides a dynamic history lesson that has nothing to do with sales, beef or riches, but instead gets rappers to talk about what inspires and influences what they say on the mic.

“I was looking at the state of hip-hop, which has gotten a little pop for me, and I just wanted to document where we came from,” says Ice-T, 54, who since 2000 has starred on TV’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. “I don’t feel that rap has been respected as an art form. Because people have seen rappers rap off the top of their heads, they don’t think it is difficult.” -Ice T.

My name is Kevin, also known as "DJ BIG KEV"  I’m 34 years old and I have been DJing for about 10+ years. My interest for DJing began when I turned 21. It all began at a place called Pure Nightclub in Sunnyvale, CA. As many nights going out, I had moments where I would stand in the back of the clubs or bars, and I was in awe of how the DJs I saw would be in full control of the whole evening by encouraging everyone to sing, rap and dance all night long. Being where I'am now came with passion, practice, networking, creativity, support and the love for music of many genres...I trusted the journey.

I continue to find time in this crazy world and life to improve and grow as a DJ & MC in many ways! There are many versions of many songs and genres to make any party a vibe! I personally love all types of music depending on my mood that day.
