19-year-old ascending talent Hector Cortes kicks off the Super Progressive Protostar Mix Series.

Hector is a Mexican artist who began his musical career at the age of 13, influenced by the renowned international DJs Hernán Cattaneo and Nick Warren.

Despite his young age, Héctor has extensive experience playing in some of the main clubs in Mexico, in his city Guadalajara, including Bar Américas, Casa Cobra.

At his young age, and with only 2 years in the world of production, Hector has only been on several labels since last year, including 3rd Avenue, Stellar Fountain, Musique de Lune and One Of A Kind.

From his first steps in electronic music to date, Héctor's productions have received support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Patrice Baumel, Eelke Kleijn, Miss Monique.

A special mix for John 00 Fleming. From the first time I saw JOOF play at Sunnyside Up in London in 1998, he's remained one of the most influential and consistent DJ's I've had the pleasure of listening to and following. 
This mix is a wonderful journey of various styles of quality trance including Progressive, Deep, Hypnotic, Raw/Driving and Psy Trance. 
The tracks were curated by JOOF and he put up the challenge for someone to mix them up. Always the peoples DJ, JOOF proposed that his favourite mix would feature on the next edition of his JOOF Radio show. Here is my answer to JOOF's challenge!

One of my favorite quotes is ‘Words can only affect you to the degree in which you think they are true.’ Now, recently since I've been DJing more, I've been getting some messages saying you're not a real DJ or you're only getting these gigs because you have a lot of followers or you're the problem, you're what's wrong with the scene. And this used to affect me, but it absolutely does not affect me anymore because I know I am putting in the work. I am listening to every single Beatport release. I'm listening to every single promo that comes my way. I'm reaching out to my favorite up and coming producers to get my hands on unreleased music that nobody else has heard yet. When you put in the work, you stop worrying about the opinions of others and you focus more on your own progression. Sander Kleinenberg once told me that a great DJ listens to four thousand tracks and picks the best twelve he think the dancefloor will enjoy most. And that's all I'm focused on. I'm putting in the work. I know you guys are putting in the work too, and because of that, I think this week's mix is my best mix yet. And I really hope that you all enjoy it. I made a promise to start sharing my live radio shows on Soundcloud in 2025. This show,  'Natural Progression Saturday Session' was recorded live on March 1st, 2025. This 3 hour journey features of some of my favourite tunes from both the past and present, including a selection of atmospheric, melodic and progressive soundscapes. I absolutely loved mixing this show. The music represents some of my favourite styles of electronica which I truly hope you'll enjoy as much as I do. As usual, I did not pre-plan or program this mix beforehand, because I feel this brings the right feeling, both when I broadcast my show and when I mix live. Hi, I'm Dj Eli G. My early musical influences began when I played with my father's vinyl collection, listening to his 70's and 80's rock and disco tracks. As a kid, I loved Men At Work, The Police, Eurythmics, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Black Box, Quadrophonia, Technotronic, SNAP, to name a few. I was an active member of the rave scene in the early 90's, listening to rave tracks, old-skool house, breaks, jungle and some of the first trance ever produced. What an amazing time for electronic music this was!🎶
Over the years, further musical influences came in the from labels, DJs and producers such as Harthouse and Eye Q Records and Oliver Leib, Zero Tolerance Recordings, Felix Da Housecat, Carl Cox, BT, Hooj Choons, Lee Burridge, Quivver, Sasha and John Digweed, Anthony Pappa, Platypus Records, Fluid Records, Bedrock and so, so many more amazing artists and labels.
Currently, I broadcast a weekly, live radio show called 'Natural Progression', which streams live on Wicked Beats Radio every Saturday 1am-5am (UK time). While I feature a wide variety of music on the show, progressive house and trance, melodic and deep house and progressive breaks are a major focus. Depending on where i'm playing, I also love mixing progressive psytrance, goa, deep, driving and hypnotic trance and melodic and uplifitng grooves.
