I had the beautiful opportunity of recharging and getting a touch more creative with my time in Oaxaca City and the beautiful Flavia Hotel. 

This set was recorded from the lower deck of Flavia, overlooking the hillsides and city of Oaxaca. The sun had set in a pink glow, the clouds started to roll in and under its soft wind, thunder could be heard in the distance. Dusk turned to night, and the flashes of distant storms could be seen swirling around Flavia.

It was such a raw experience, feeling the environment shifting throughout the set and being covered yet exposed to the elements at the same time. Flavia is a Beast of a space... and I owe my being there to Barbara, Mim and Vera for having me in the space and helping me to create this mix. 

I wanted to create something that would be reflective of Flavia's magnitude. Powerful yet poised were the words that kept coming up.

We start off this one pretty high energy to set the tone with tracks by Double Touch & Bross, and Qess. Later flowing into more ethereal soundscapes with Yunus Guvenen, Viken Arman, David Hohme and many more!

Last Night a DJ Broke My Heart

Midsommar is celebration centered upon the summer solstice, where everyone dances around a maypole and participates in feasts and bonfires.  This 3 hour set was recorded live in Venice Beach a few weeks after the summer solstice, but deeply influenced by various celebrations occurring around the time.

This is part 1 of 2 of my 5-hour set on Shasta Lake in October. This set was unbelievably fun to play... the environment was perfect - cool crisp Autumn air with great friends dancing all night on the roof of our houseboat, moon rising behind me, and lasers dancing across the water. Couldn't imagine a more perfect night.

These myriad forms find guidance through their interconnectedness with the Cosmic Consciousness, and in turn feed back their experiences to it. Together they comprise a living whole that evolves from the interaction of the whole with all its parts. Simultaneously, while one part of Cosmic Consciousness is compressed into form, the consciousness in the whole is expanded through what is experienced.
