Live From Terrydeaux IV: Downtown Revisited

February 28, 2014 marks four years since my dear friend Terry Maurer passed on to the other side.  In 2011, I felt it appropriate to mark the first anniversary of his new life with a mix: Live From Terrydeaux. 

The tracks that comprise the fourth installment in the continuing annual series, Live From Terrydeaux, are, primarily, 1985 – 1989 Miami Bass and Freestyle tracks – some updated and remixed since that time.  These particular tracks were those I played for years while spinning in the Thibodaux club scene, particularly at Uptown, Goobers and Bullwinkle’s, in downtown during the late 80’s and early 90’s.  After midnight, on any given Thursday or Saturday night, during that time, you would find a beyond capacity crowd on my floors and Terry was always in that number. If you were there, turn it up and remember a time when Miami Bass and Freestyle were emergent, and we brought the house down. If you were not, turn it up anyway … ☺

"I was honored to warm up the silent disco from the main stage at Breakfast of Champions 2013. B.O.C. is one of the events I look forward to most each year with the most exemplary display of Burner community I've witnessed outside of BRC. This mix came straight from the heart - it goes deeper than I typically do, with a focus on bass, melody and uplifting vocal tunes. You'll hear some remixes of familiar songs (feel free to sing along!) and some more obscure cuts all mashed together. Después de varios meses sin compartir mi música, llego el momento de volver con el último set que he creado bajo el nombre de UNSIGNED MIND y con el que sólo toco ELECTRO & TECHNO. 

(i)LEKTRO mas que un dj set, es una historia que empezó hace no mas de un año, en el expuse mi devoción por este estilo en concreto. A través de estos 12 largos meses habéis podido escuchar otros sets, incluso ya hay gente que ha podido verme en directo. 
Para este año 2013 y en pocos meses, podréis ver las primeras referencias digitales bajo el nombre UNSIGNED MIND, aunque por el momento no quiero extenderme mas...
