Composed in 1997 and released as IVM 002 "Communion/Assimilation," this version was written by Dana(DJ Subliminal)Brown and Dan "Theory" Warren. The Zen parties in Orlando, FL in the early 90's demonstrated how massive the rave scene had become. Incredible DJ lineups, full live acts at massive fairground venues packed with rave kids made for special nights.  Some were lucky enough to keep the party going like this excellent after party DJ'd by none other than Sasha himself.  

A full 6 hrs of progressive, moody, loved up house in the early morning of labor day 1996. Over 60 tracks in all!

Enjoy this live recording of the Plump DJs (Grand Hotel Recordings) from the Space Cowboys' 13th annual Breakfast of Champions in San Francisco on New Year's Day. The Plumps were a surprise, unannounced addition to the line-up this year and to the delight of an unsuspecting crowd, they lit up the Funktion One stage as the sun was setting on yet another epic B.O.C. Plumps DJs are internationally renown UK DJ/Producer duo Andy Gardner and Lee Rous, whose passion for innovation and non-conformist attitude to electronic music has fuelled their fire for over a decade. Their unmistakeable signature sound has earned them recent remix commissions from the likes of Deadmau5, Mark Ronson, Moby and Orbital while their four deck live show has lead to countless international tours and shows at London's lead music venues XOYO, Fabric and the Nest. We asked Stereo:Type about the process of making this mix, and here is what he had to say:

"When you're commissioned to make a mix for DJ Shadow, you know you have to pull something special out of the bag. Making sure it was a musical experience was as much a key part of this as making it a hype mix to listen to, considering you are working with material by a guy whose process involves finding sounds which work together as though they were made for one another. When i was approached to do this, I was asked to make the mix using material either sampled by, or remixed for or by Shadow. So Instead of making it a straight up one track into another kind of mix, I tried to approach it like a live performance, deconstructing tracks into their component parts then re-assembling and combining them with my own take on it. I certainly hope people have as much of a blast listening to it as i did making it."

Fresh new tracks from East London producer Heuristic Audio. Melodic and emotive driving tracks styled in a manner unique to Electro producers define this record.  Four tracks kicking off with "Death of a Star" already coined by Dj's such as Mark Broom.  Heavy break building bass lines culminating in a final peak of colliding melodies and haunting deep vocoder vocals. Strong clean percussion breaks throughout. 
  "Soul Frous" track A.2 follows up with cascading saw wave bass lines dropping down into the bass bins. Staccato rhythms and floating ghostly melodic constructions create a sense of suspense and drama throughout this track. 
  "Wisla" Kicks off with a hard driving breakbeat with fluctuating staccato melody's in the background with a huge bass line filling out the track. Cutting lead synth lines burst into the mix bringing it to a new level of suspense and mystery. this track is fat, break driven Electro with a heavy UK feel to it. Building and breaking down, and rebuilding again into different evolving mutation. A very personal and expressive experience for the listener. 
"Dawn Over the City" track B.2 brings a stunning end to this 4 track EP bound to make a dent in the History of Electro. Full on melodic and counter melodies, in the vain of Boards of Canada but rich in tonalities and variation constantly drinving forward through the mix with clean driving kicks and snare
