As Paulette opened up for Hacienda Classicals live set in Depot Mayfield a month ago, the esteemed and highly respected tune-ster turned in a typically sublime, strong and soulful set taking in disco and US garage classics.

With Voodoo Ray, Strictly Rhythm’s best tracks as well as Soft House Company’s timeless “What You Need” at the outset, the scene is made for some lesser heard special remixes and bona fide Hacienda back in the day tunes from Todd Terry, The Jungle Brothers, Adonis and more. 

Winding up with disco and new york flavours, having warmed up the thousands in Depot that night, Paulette delivers some masterful tracks from Bobby Konders, Ewan McVIcar and Frankie Knuckles in a mix that’s truly resonant of the style of one of the finest DJ practitioners.

Both parts of my set providing the soundtrack for the recent launch of a book by Kirk Field called Rave New World. I played either side of his appearance, and then edited them together at about 1 hour 23 minutes. As with all of my live mixes, there's a few clangers, and a few absolute genius transitions. I leave them all in to stay true to the original ethos of DJing where it's all about 'The Moment".

Big thanks to friend of the site and North East legend Mr. Antony Daly for recommending our very special 150th episode. As many will know, Daly's been djing and promoting around the North East of England since the mid 90's, particularly with his seminal Reverb and Suono parties which are nothing short of Newcastle folklore.

Right now, he's now busier than ever after opening the incredibly popular  586 Records (3rd Floor, Commercial Union House, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle). Which has become the go to place for vinyl collectors around the region full of classics from music's finest corners. The shops also moving into selling brand new wax so you're well covered.

001 of the Classic Mix CD collection. This mix immediately sprung to mind and an major contender for all time favourite mix CD. (It's seems like a few of you guys think the same). A hands in the air, feel good garage (and house) banger with many many memories attached.
