Nepeta cataria [catnip] is known for the behaviour effects it has on both domestic and big cats. It has been compared by cat owners to marijuana and LSD. The catnip high only lasts for a short period of time and is characterised by meowing, purring and an overwhelming sense of freedom and happiness.
