Your Value is Internal | DJ ŪGENE 2020 Year End Mix

2020 has been a tough year for everyone, especially artists and dream makers.  As a DJ of over 15 years, having put a pause to It many years ago to dedicate more time to my hair stylist career, this year I was excited to do a comeback and play a few events i was already booked for and continue what my true passion is.  I am still so grateful to those who without even knowing much about me, offered me opportunities and gave me a chance to showcase my talent. 

This isn’t the end and Im positive the new year will bring more opportunities and will allow us to continue making magic.  I want to thank everyone who has supported me, my followers who in the midst of a pandemic never stopped supporting my journey. I only got to DJ here once Labor Day Weekend back in 2010.  HIRO Ballroom is in NYC and located in Chelsea.  Years ago they use to put on an incredible party catering to Gay clientele on Sunday nights.  I loved DJIng here as the energy was electric.  Not a guy on the dance floor had his shirt on.   This set you on a journey in an iconic dance arena.

NYC based Tribal, Tech, and Latin House DJ. 

Inspired after watching Avicii's documentary, I stopped seeking perfection and wanted to break from the boundaries of trying to fit "a sound," to FINALLY put something out there.

It isn't perfect. I'm still learning. I have A LOT to learn. But it is me.

I invite you all on this journey as I seek to define MY sound.

I'm influenced by so many different artists and genres that it's been overwhelming and paralyzing at times - it's what has been holding me back.

You'll find me on platforms at circuit parties, jumping up and down at the main stage at EDM festivals, shuffle dancing to future house/deep house, rocking out to throwback emo/alternative, living for disco parties in BK, mesmerized at trance shows, blasting merengue/salsa or Selena when I'm feeling my Puerto Rican self, and singing at the top of my lungs to showtunes at home.

Through this journey, I want you to hear all those sides of me, and allow it to differentiate me, not hold me back.
