Resident #6 on So What! Radioshow
A pioneer of the rave scene and electronic music events since 1994 in Canada, he is the founder of Mental Crew Productions since 2004 and is still active in organizing events. For 10 years, Micky Mental was director and promoter of several big clubs including Sona and Aria, two of the biggest “afterhours” in Montreal.
Micky Mental has been a DJ since 1996 and has performed in several clubs and events in various locations in America.
With a 25 year career as promoter, organizer, artistic director as well as DJ of several events, he is renowned as the first to have introduced and made known several DJs from different countries for the first time in Canada.
He hired 150 international DJs who collaborated with him in 17 raves, bringing together more than 3,000 people, among others, at the Bell Center, the Olympic Stadium, Jarry Park and the Metropolis.
Artist manager, Micky Mental has owned 2 labels: Infiltration Record and Ourway Recording.
Referred to as the "master" of techno events, he is the recipient of three MiMi'S Award for the 1998, 1999 and 2000 event of the year for the "The Arrival" electronic music festival, and is featured on the front page of the Journal de Montreal and La Presse.

Pionnier de la scène rave et des événements de musique électronique depuis 1994 au Canada, il est le fondateur de Mental Crew Productions depuis 2004 et est toujours actif dans l’organisation d’événements. Pendant 10 ans, Micky Mental a été directeur et promoteur de plusieurs grands clubs incluant le Sona et Aria, deux des plus grand « afterhours » à Montréal.
Micky Mental est DJ depuis 1996 et a joué dans plusieurs clubs et événements à divers endroits en Amérique.
Avec une carrière de 25 années comme promoteur, organisateur, directeur artistique ainsi que DJ de plusieurs événements, il est réputé comme étant le premier à avoir introduit et fait connaître plusieurs DJs de différents pays pour la première fois au Canada.
Il a engagé 150 DJs internationaux qui ont collaboré avec lui dans 17 raves en rassemblant plus de 3 000 personnes, entre autres, au Centre Bell, au Stade Olympique, au Parc Jarry et au Métropolis.
Gérant d’artiste, Micky Mental a été propriétaire de 2 labels : Infiltration Record et Ourway Recording.

Get Physical label boss and artist Roland Leesker has put together the esteemed outlet’s latest essential compilation. It features 13 acid driven tracks including two exclusives that all add up to one fantastic musical journey. Artists along the way include plenty of Get Physical associates old and new such as M.A.N.D.Y., DJ Pierre, Jazzuelle and Cardopusher. 

Things kick off with Roland’s own deep and moody remix of M.A.N.D.Y’s ‘Rhythm & Soul.’ It’s a languid, dark tune for basement sessions that opens things with real purpose. From there, Steve Lawler cooks up a rigid house groove with blurts of acid dripping from above and stalwart Luke Solomon gets freaky with molten acid modulations underlining some big trumpet riffs.

No acid compilation would be complete without Spanky and here there is a special tribute track, Phuture – We Are Phuture (Spanky’s Spirit Survives Mix), from DJ Pierre made in memory of Spanky after he passed away last year. It is a stark and strobe-lit anthem with tough drums and spooky vocal sounds that real stands out.

The likes of Zombie Nation and ANNA then take acid into colourful tech house territory and deep down a rabbit hole respectively, while Kotelett & Zadak’s ‘Your Secret’ is a perfectly mind melting affair that zones you out as it journeys to the edge of the cosmos.

The first of the exclusives is Andre Salata’s ‘Random Flavour’, a grinding, driving track that burrows deep with menacing drums as a wonky acid line works away up top. The other is Leon Revol’s ‘Acid Is Rolling’, a more playful house track with squelchy 303 sounds bringing the funk to some loose drums and jazzy chords.

This is a compelling collection of fresh acid tracks that round out another fantastic year for the ever excellent Get Physical label.

For me the best way I have over come pain or sadness is playing music, or expressing it through making mixes. And for me a first in style/format with this set. In 1997 I sat in my car after driving home listening at my apartment parking lot to a live recorded set of Paul Oakenfold on Don Berns show (CKLN) I sat there for 45 min , a style-sound-vibe I was not familiar with or for that matter gave a chance to listen. That day that set changed my life. This mix I made inspired me to help me through sadness RIP dad #myhousehaseverythingprogressive

"Music can often explain feelings better than words” - something you could also say about the creative work of the Leipzig based producer. Impressed by the diversity of sounds, he started to play DJ-sets and produced his first own tracks in 2013. After exploring various styles under different pseudonyms, gradually his taste in music got shaped and led to his alias “Aio”, which was born in early 2016. His music is characterised by variable soundscapes with an eye for detail. Strong kick-bass-grooves meet melodic sketches which will move your body and let the mind flow.

Pakk [Surrrealism]

Born in Spain, Pakk began his journey in the world of production at the legendary Beatfreak Recordings label and together with EdOne they published “Alhambra EP”, which quickly positioned itself on the sales charts. Thomas Gandey and Dizharmonia are in charge of doing the remixes to give a leap in quality to the release.

In 2019, again accompanied by EdOne, he publishes his second EP "Madness Dose / Dangerous" on one of the best labels on the scene, Selador Recordings. Artists of the stature of Alican and Nandu are responsible for making the remixes that will later be reproduced at a wide variety of events and recognized worldwide.

He is currently working on new productions and immersed in the artistic development of the project "Surrrealism", which has seen the light at the beginning of 2021 and will soon release the first reference.
