EP 30: ManInFest by Alex Acosta - May 2014

Music is simply amazing. It's so many things to all of us. Its ability to create unimaginably vast economies which support and sustain hundreds of millions of lives is a mere footnote when compared to its more extraordinary abilities, such as energizing the body, focusing the mind, awakening long-forgotten memories, altering the mood, and lifting the spirit. A veritable time machine, music can transport us to the past and to the future.  More astonishingly, music can be used to attune the entire self to the universal love/joy vibration that is the source of everything.  Many times this love/joy moves us...literally. We've all felt it take us over on the dance floor. It lifts us up and invigorates us - so much so that we find ourselves literally jumping with love/joy. It's fair to say then that music is an everyday miracle, a modern day elixir of life. But we also know that some music can depress (which is to say "press down upon") body, mind, and spirit. So, it's important then that we choose wisely, and with joy, and, above all else, with love.

Only an extraordinarily powerful and transformative magic can help us and I can think of no better phrase to describe that unique ability of music to facilitate transformation in anyone and anything. If I am right, then you and I came to this world, at this time, at this very critical moment, to help awaken its inhabitants from some bizarre, psychosomatic mass paralysis.
