After releasing his latest EP “Chibcha” on Random Collective, Marcelo becomes the first Colombian soul to join our global family, and does so with a journey of fantastic Latin American and avant-garde house music.

Raised between Andean sounds, malambo, milongas and techno from the 80's, Marcelo toured multiple cities of his native land in which he nourished his culture and learned his instruments. Currently in Costa Rica where he meets the modern sounds of techno, mixing innovating sounds and textures to generate a present ancestral sound.

The afternoon sun was in the window now and the room was too wann. The young man washed and put on his clothes and went down to walk on the beach. In the cafe he found the paper and ordered himself a fine a l'eau because he felt empty and hollow from making love. The music in the cafe was gorgeous. Dreamy and gentle, a mixture of Electronica, Downtempo and some lovely world sounds all over it. He felt calm and in love, he wanted to travel again. “What's playing right now?” he asked curiously a beautiful waitress. “The new Shango Records single sir. Two tracks by Jose Solano and some gorgeous remixes by AmuAmu, Gulivert and Mikado Koko”. That was it. He was so happy and peaceful with this, he fell in love again, start living with the beauty of this music....
