This one is a bit different to your usual speed garage tracks... jersey is infectious on the dance floor so I had to add a jersey drop, a dance hall cut and some breaks to make this warping 4/4 speed garage track unique.

The song is a reimagination of DJ Gunshot's iconic track Wheel Up which was so pivotal to Jungle and UK Garage. It is credited as one of the first tracks ever to use the iconic "dub siren" sound that now is quintessential UKG, so I had to pay homage to that and do my own 4/4 warping bassline version.

Coming straight off the hot and spicy sound press - Colombian producer DJ MAYBE has painted a sound picture of a heavin’ House party apparently at the location of King Momo’s fresh pad. Stab chords like hands hitting the sweaty lounge room ceiling that's been turned into a makeshift overcrowded dance floor. Vocal samples poppin off like an argument on the kitchen bench at 3am about who has more key chains on their belt and a bouncing bass line you can hear from three doors down, ready to call the cops with a noise complaint.

30th release. I guess it's funny how time flies. 

Speaking of "Time", Albert Einstein said “Time is an illusion”, while Andy Warhol once wrote “They say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself”. But of all musing about Time, I like the author Marthe Troly-Curtin’s quote best that “Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time”. 

When it’s 6am and you’re stood in a forest somewhere unknown - the sun coming up, and you’re surrounded by friends, while electronic rhythms vibrate through you, shirtless, twisting your body as though participating in some sort of ancient tribal neon ritual. Yeah, you get it. 

The track “Time” by New York based artist Monolithic, is an expansive inducer of vibe. A luscious slice of clangin’ housewerk that captures the listener in its mix of swirling pads, IDM riddims and warm jets of bass. Somewhere in the fog, a female siren emerges, calling out “All I Need Is Time. All I Need Is Time. Make This Feel Right” - drawing you in, closer and deeper. And much like that magical 6am rave hour, you lose yourself in the moment. Time enjoyed, indeed!
