Was such a pleasure playing this (relatively) chill set at The Great Beyond, July 29, 2023.  My first time playing during the day felt different and we did not run the stage this year so we were booked in a 4 hour block Saturday called "The Headspace Collective". We split it evenly- Neil played first, Brandi next and then me. They did a great job of keeping it chill. I, as usual, couldn't keep it slow but worked it up for the perfect set up to JayceeLives playing disco, boogie and house. 
Thanks to Cloudy Kid and Kajungaworld for the audio support, Neil Fox for the all around support and of course Intellephunk for throwing an awesome event

All tracks are from 1991 - 2000 by producers and labels such as Luke Slater, Synewave, Damon Wild, Tresor, Underground Resistance, Aux 88, James Ruskin, Drexciya, Basic Channel, Robert Hood, Claude Young and Chris McCormack to name a few.

Aux 88’s live performances very much feel like a rousing old-school Hip-hop show. Though the latter certainly has legitimate claims on Aux 88’s sound, so do Techno, Miami Bass, Trip-hop and Funk. Still, the Detroit-based pair never aims to fit a narrow definition, but rather strives to make people dance, by any means necessary.

1. I cannot find any expression online, by any artist in this mix that implies their support for the genocide of Palestinians

I feel the sentiment also applies to the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and the continued violence/murder inflicted on the Palestinan people. Lyrics like, ‘We all know it was murder, murder, murder’; and ‘I will always rise’ to reflect the fierceness of the Palestinian people and deep connection to their land
4. Rebuild a Nation by Damon Locks, Black Monument Ensemble, for me is a call out to people power. The current system is not working! Governments all around the world are out of touch! 
Dismantle imperialist, white supremacist, capitalist and patriarchal systems!

I recorded this mix on stolen land; on Darkinjung country. Always Was Always Will Be, Aboriginal Land!

AZZARadio 016 - Disco Brunch

It was the second time that Josey Rebelle used the rotary knobs. A challenge, but the very talented Rinse FM resident pulled it off. Expect 1,5 hours of driving, adventurous house, techno, electro and beyond, drenched in soul. An ode to a few favorite artists. With tracklist. We're blessed.

Josey was introduced to the decks at an early age, taught to DJ by her brother on his house, techno and hardcore collection when she was 13. While her club sets centre around house, techno and breakbeat sounds old and new, Josey demonstrates the full spectrum of her musical knowledge on her three-hour Sunday morning Rinse FM shows.
