My closing set at the November 19, 2022 'Return to the Trance' gig in Ottawa, Canada, recorded directly from the mixing desk. 

Organized by Gordon Clone604 (and his crew), who had heard me twice at ZNA Gathering in Portugal, the event was a retro party meant to highlight the best of 90s psychedelic trance. 

I was given the closing set to go full 'Goa' with my selection and story - and I did. There were a few favourites here that I'd actually never played out and a few others that I'd not played publicly since the 90s. The crowd was awesome and the vibe top-notch.

In Focus this time is RAZIEL with a set recorded specially for radiOzora with different collaborations and different types of GOA Trance. Born and raised in Tel-Aviv Israel, he got exposed to music at a very young age and it was a big part of Raz's childhood but at the age of 14, he started to explore the world of Electronic Music and soon after began making compositions of his own. He then started to perform in parties in the Israeli Trance Scene and very quickly became well known in the scene. Currently, Raz is working on new materials, Goa, Psytrance and also Psy Ambient Music.

Own Spirit Festival 2017 - Bahr Mimesis dj set

Goa is over 20 years old in the mean time. Time to have a retrodelic look! For this I dug in my huge cd & vinyl collection and decided to make a mix for every year for the period 1994-2017 to show the "new" generation of goa people how goa-trance evolved, and never really died ;)

This eighth mix is about 1999, mixed with 2 CDJ1000s and Pioneer djm300 (no lap top mixing involved!). Like usual, a serious challenge! All styles are captured in 1 mix... Hopefully it sounds like a good story! :) The next mix will be about 2000! :) So, have a look, a listen, download it and make sure to buy the music if you like it!

USING PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE AS A CANALIZATION

Dj Bahr Mimesis born july 1989 in Barcelona, Spain. At the very age of fifteen he is being absorbed by electronic music and all the movement it leads. It is not until one free party, specifically at the Summertech Barcelona 2007, that he discovers the Psytrance music. Since that day he attends among others a good number of the so called Muskaria Parties, fascinated by the energy on the dancefloor and its people, and the values that Psychedelic Art promotes.

In 2009, along with other artists he starts a project in order to contribute to this Art in some ways such as disc jockeying, organizing events and supporting fluor decoration and scenography; a project called Mimesis. With this project Bahr Mimesis starts to play in several free and local parties, together with the organization of other events in Barcelona and Palamós. Since then he has not stopped growing in their performances as a dj and in the evolution and the constant searching of the best psytrance music of the moment.

This 2015 Bahr Mimesis has played at Own Spirit Festival (Spain), Transylvaliens Festival (Romania), S.U.N. (Hungary), Connection Festival (Spain), among others.

His sets are adapted both day and night times, besides previously liable to the approach of the event. General speaking his sets are based on the creation of a hypnotic and placid atmosphere, accompanied with a powerful base and traceable rhythm. He searches for both melodies electronic and mechanical from Psytrance, and also organic, more characteristic of Goa Trance, in order to propagate the maximum rate of energy for dance and active meditation.

Dj Bahr Mimesis, nacido en julio de 1989 en Barcelona. A la edad de quince años se ve absorbido por la música electrónica y por todo el movimiento que conlleva. Pero no es hasta una free party, concretamente el Summertech de 2007 que tiene su primer encuentro con la música psytrance. A partir de entonces asiste, entre otras, a gran parte de las fiestas Muskaria fascinado por la energía de la gente y en la pista, y los valores que promueve el arte psiquedélico.

En 2009, junto con otros artistas empieza un proyecto (Mimesis) para contribuir a este arte formándose como disc jockey, organizando y colaborando en diferentes eventos y asistiendo en la escenografía de la decoración fluor. Con este proyecto Bahr Mimesis empieza a actuar en varias free parties y fiestas locales, a la vez que organizando otras fiestas y eventos entre Barcelona y Palamós. Desde entonces no ha parado de crecer en sus actuaciones y en la evolución y la búsqueda del mejor Psytrance del momento.
  
Este 2015 Bahr Mimesis ha actuado en  Own Spirit Festival (Spain), Transylvaliens Festival (Romania), S.U.N. (Hungary), Connection Festival (Spain), entre otros.

Sus sesiones se adaptan tanto al día como a la noche, más previamente sujetas al enfoque del evento. En general se basan en la creación de una atmosfera hipnótica y plácida, acompañada de un ritmo potente. Las melodías suelen ser tanto electrónicas y mecánicas tan características del Psytrance como más orgánicas, sonidos influyentes del Goa Trance, todo ello para propagar la máxima energía en el baile y la meditación activa.
