Bartek Industries @ Moontribe March 2022

My return to Moontribe after 4 years!  Hey it ain't so easy to pull off living in Oregon... but good news, my venue booking business has me in California at least once a month so far this year :)

Anyway, it was great to be back!  For a March Full Moon this was a little more intimate than I was expecting - still a few hundred people there on a beautiful Thursday night though!

Musically this is on the faster,(130bpm) harder end of my range.  I did also slip in some breakbeats at the beginning and in the middle.

A lot of people haven't heard me play this style, and I always get a couple surprised comments when I play like this.  It's good to keep people on their toes!

I'll post the track list soon, but it takes a minute, and I wanted to get this up before it gets late :)  

I had a really great time here, and I danced for hours.  It was the first time I'd been in front of a huge system since the pandemic, sounded so good out there!  

Hope to be back for more soon  :)

Bartek Industries @ Church Of The Open Mind ArtCar Burning Man 2022 Burn Night 12am - 2am

It's safe to say that Desert Dwellers are the most OG desert DJs that we know. In fact, Treavor Moontribe was one of the founding members of Moontribe Collective, the original community of California desert dancers who've been gathering under the full moon since 1993. We owe a ton of our inspiration to Moontribe and we might even go so far to say there wouldn't be a Desert Hearts without our founding fathers of the desert scene.

While we've had Treavor Moontribe absolutely kill it for us in the past, it's his ultra psychedelic Desert Dwellers project with partner Amani Friend that really made international waves. Predominantly a downtempo project, we first heard about a super rare techno / tech house set performed by Desert Dwellers through our partner Kristoff. And he just wouldn't stop raving about it...

Honestly we had absolutely no idea what to expect from a techno set by Desert Dwellers other than the good word of one of our partners. Their set was the one true wildcard on our lineup and it ended up being one of the most radical sets of the weekend. With the first 1.5 hours of the set being all original material, Desert Dwellers pulled off one of the best sets we've ever heard at Desert Hearts.

With a heartfelt nod to those who paved the way for us, we hope you enjoy Live @ Desert Hearts- Desert Dwellers - 018 as much as we do. <3

Slated to release their eighth studio album, Desert Dwellers—consisting of Treavor Moontribe and Amani Friend—are sitting on an otherworldly 12-track offering. From their forthcoming LP, titled 'The Great Mystery,' the duo invites the listener on a profound, five-minute journey via “Bird Over Sand Dunes,” which features lush layers of intricately interconnected psy sounds. Spoken word interplays with serene vocalizations, while whizzing melodies drift across subtle basslines and sapid sub-bass growls. As always, Desert Dwellers makes complex compositions seem as simple as breathing.

[PREMIERE] Desert Dwellers - The Elephant's March [The Great Mystery 3/20 Black Swan Records]

I wrote this track quite a few years ago, but recently finished it with engineering help from the one and only Yuli Fershtat aka Perfect Stranger!!! It was mastered by the legendary Ido Ophir from Israel and I must say Im very happy with the final product! I've decided to give it away for free but will also eventually release it commercially as well. Enjoy!

It's not often that two DJs seem to have a telepathic connection with each other, but this set would be as close as I have ever gotten to that. Having played many events together, in the desert, warehouses and clubs, it was at my own Open Air party that we finally decided to play back 2 back and boy am I glad we did. The sunrise at the October 2016 Full Moon Gathering was of the most spectacular I've witnessed in quite some time. After a night of desert mayhem, the morning sun brought in a day of smiles for miles.. and wind! So much wind and dust all day to make things even more fun.

It was a very cold night of the Full Lunar Eclipse. The wind was fierce and relentless. You either had to stay close to the fire, seek shelter, or keep dancing hard. This mix of driving techno reflects what it took to make it to sunrise through the cold and chaotic night.  Live in Love
