As part of this year’s celebration of emergence from an incredibly tough year, Stephen Jusko and I would like to share a new remix with all of you that we’ve been working on for months now in preparation for summer. 

As soon as we heard “Stronger,” we knew we were going to make this our pride anthem for 2021. One of our personal favorites, Kesha, has done it once again - this time on a track for Dutch DJ, Sam Feldt. The lyrics are so uplifting that we felt drawn to create a happy, daytime, emotional, and inspiring remix to take this track to the next level for dance floors around the world!

This is a special mix drawing on influences from the infamous Legend nightclub in Manchester in the 80's with Greg Wilson as it's DJ and also the equally as legendary Blackpool Mecca nightclub from  the 70's with my hero Colin Curtis DJing Northern Soul.

The mix uses music specifically from the 70's and 80's period that have been reworked for a modern dancefloor. The mix begins with SOS Band's original masterpiece 'Just Be Good To Me' and then takes you on a journey through time in a Soulful and Groovy manner.

I've also played a Todd Edwards style in places with mashed up vocals while keeping the original underlying sound of the track intact. 

This is a mix recorded with much Love & Soul, turn it on, turn it up and get your Groove on!

Following the success of their recent covers of BELIEVE IT OR NOT, SHADOWS OF THE NIGHT, and THE WARRIOR, Jusko and Blacklow are gearing up to release their first Original track together and they are beyond honored to have the incomparably talented 17-time Top 5 to Top 20 Billboard charting artist Debby Holiday join them on the project.

Written in collaboration with songwriter & vocalist Cameron Neilson, the dynamic trio set out to create an anthem that would resonate with queer audiences around the world at a time when LGBTQ issues are again under significant attack. Over a year in the making, LOVE LIFT ME UP is a dance floor track tailored for Pride celebrations around the world. In Texas alone, where Jusko resides, over 57 anti-LGBT1Q bills have been introduced in the past year in the state legislature. And, according to the ACLU, over 540 anti-LGBTQ bills have already been put forth at the state level across the U.S. in 2023. 

Now Blacklow, Jusko, Neilson, and Holiday have created a song that sets out to counter the forces that seek to divide us by uniting all of us through the power of music. LOVE LIFT ME UP is an antidote to hate and a love letter to queer people globally; a reminder that the strength we find as a marginalized community - alongside the support of our allies - will always push us forward to greater inclusivity, acceptance, and equality. 

“‘Love Lift Me Up’ is the kind of song I knew I could sink my emotions into because the words are what I stand for’,” says Holiday. “‘Embrace every color, shining brighter than ever’… Right now I can’t think of a better message to be sending out.”

The Original Mix of LOVE LIFT ME UP will drop on June 2nd, along with remixes from Dan Slater (Big Room), Block & Crown (House), Matt Consola & Tommy Marcus (Tech House), and Zantro (Future House). The second remix package - which contains Jusko and Blacklow’s VIP House Mix - will drop on June 23rd - heading into the main Pride weekend in the US - along with remixes from Toy Armada (Big Room), Brett Oosterhaus (Progressive House), Larry Peace (House), and an additional Disco House remix from Slater.

We first remixed "Pink Pony Club" exactly a year ago and we knew back then that this amazing queer artist was gonna be the biggest thing on the planet. Our "Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl" remix followed a couple of months later as an official commission from Island/Universal, and now, it's been the summer of Ch@ppell! (and Charli & Sabrina too, of course!) 

This remix is by far the most tech-house track we've done together. We're delighted with how the techno bassline drives this one and then we accompanied it with a killer arpeggiated synth. Add the signature guitar strum and we think we've come up with something really special.

LA-based DJ Blacklow (Jeremy Blacklow) grew up on the dance floors of New York City inspired by the house music of the '90s, inspired by the sounds of Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Frankie Knuckles, and the late Peter Rauhofer. In 2011, Blacklow finally listened to friends' advice and took his love of music to the next level, playing bars, clubs & events throughout Southern California, before becoming a successful DJ and producer who now tours the world.

Blacklow's sound is a mix of classic house, tech house, progressive house, future house, and disco. His trademark sound is filled with uplifting high energy and soaring vocals. He seamlessly blends the old school and the new to create an incredible momentum-building dance floor journey on every outing. A standard Blacklow set includes a heavy dose of throwbacks and classics, mixed with the latest tracks drawn from a wide array of inspirations.

Blacklow’s production work includes several singles and remixes with his Texas-based production partner of the past five years, Stephen Jusko. Their first collaboration, a remix of Katy Perry’s “Never Really Over,” caught the ear of Perry’s manager, who gave them the official studio stems for her next single, “Small Talk,” which quickly became their most downloaded and listened to single ever. Their Chappell Roan remixes - which include their viral remix of “Pink Pony Club,” an Island/Universal commissioned remix of “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl,” and a tech-house driven take on “Hot To Go,” are currently powering dance floors around the world. Together, Blacklow and Jusko have also remixed singles by Lady Gaga (“Rain On Me”), Kesha (“Raising Hell,” “Stronger”), P!nk (“Never Gonna Not Dance Again,” “Just Like A Pill”), Alanis Morrisette (“You Oughta Know”), Zai (“Clouds”), Debby Holiday (“Love & Beats”) and more. 

In December 2020, Blacklow and Jusko put out their first single together, a cover of the ‘80s Scandal anthem, “The Warrior” with vocals by Audrey Callahan on Queen House Music, which quickly soared to the top of Beatport’s Top 100 Big Room charts. Two complete remix packages followed in January and February 2021. They followed it up in the fall of 2021 with a cover from Callahan of Pat Benatar’s “Shadows of the Night,” with remixes that served as true gay anthems across the globe during the fall of ‘21 and winter of ‘22. 

In the summer of 2022, Blacklow and Jusko collaborated on a cover of “Believe It Or Not” (the theme song from “The Greatest American Hero”) with vocalist Brian Kent, which was released on Swishcraft Music. And in June 2023, the dynamic duo released their first Original track together on Swishcraft, an LGBTQ anthem titled “Love Lift Me Up,” featuring vocals from the incomparable Debby Holiday.  

Recent 2024 remixes include his viral mashup of Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Zhana’s update of “Looking For A New Love,” Kent’s “Carry Your Light,” and “Gym Crush” from Broadway stars Nick Burroughs and Alex Newell. A soon-to-be-released new remix with Sapphira Crystal from "RuPaul’s Drag Race" is on its way in early 2025.

Other Blacklow high-energy remixes include “To Be Able To Love” (with George Figares feat. Brenda Reed, Swishcraft), Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Cut To The Feeling,” and “Party For One” (with Hector Fonseca), “Beautiful Trauma” (P!nk), “Brave” (Sara Bareilles),  Bo$$ (Fifth Harmony), two explosive remixes of Ellie Goulding’s “Flux,” and the tracks “Fierce,” “Faces” and “Better Days” from NYC-based singer Mila Jam.
 
With so much momentum behind him, Blacklow has several exciting gigs and productions in store for 2025 and beyond. Hard at work on several new projects, Blacklow remains one of the most exciting DJ/producers on the scene today.
