PREMIERE: Ramon Tapia - Groove Five - Say What? Recordings

Roush welcomes Alex Wellmann and Jay de Lys this August as the pair combine to deliver ‘Guettin’, accompanied by a remix from Italian talent Atove. Hector Couto’s Roush Label has become an impressive source for discovering emerging talent over the years, releasing material from then rising talents including Solardo, Latmun and Cuartero amongst many. Here we see these A&R’ing abilities displayed once again as Couto welcomes fellow Tennerife based talent Alex Wellmann to the imprint, whilst hotly tipped Argentinian Jay de Lys arrives fresh from appearances on the likes of Repopulate Mars and Materialism as the two producers combine for a debut collaboration entitled ‘Guettin’ this August. Wellmann and de Lys’ title cut ‘Guettin’ initiates proceedings as the duo employ skipping percussion patterns amongst sultry low-ends, whilst ‘Not Your Girl’ keeps the intensity high, introducing snaking hats and chopped vocal samples to the mix. ‘Late Motiv’ signals the last of the pairing’s original productions as slick drum licks combine with reverberating sub bass hits and an infectious lead line throughout, before Italian talent Atove raises the tempo once again to unveil a series of energy building snare fills and escalating synth leads as he closes out proceedings with his remix of ‘Not Your Girl’.

New release by our boy Oscar L, delivering two bombs in Aura EP. Oscar had a fantastic year dropping some bangers in the tops label reaching several top 10 during the year. 'Wah Wah' this techno base is inspired by old techno tracks that melt House percussions and Techno kicks, recovering those drops where everything started again in progression and creating a tension that explodes without the drum rolls help. 'Aura' continues the success of his last release in Truesoul, this new track makes the most of the groove and a melodic line of arpeggios that culminates with an aggressive synth to put the icing on the cake with this late hit.

Got To Keep On

The international Pursuit family keeps expanding, this time by adding German Heerhorst to the roster. Frequent collaborator with Teenage Mutants and contributor to labels such as Stil vor Talent and Octopus. 

We present the Blow EP with 3 strong groovers combined with mesmerizing synths and pounding beats. A1 delivers us a brooding stomper called Blow, that changes direction half way through the track delivering that Pursuit sound ideal for the warm, dark and damp club-nights.

On closing duties we have the talented André Winter, reshaping the Blow into his own image. While the intricate melodies keep evolving into a melodic crescendo, the low end grips you by the throat and pushes you into that dark abyss of clubs all over.

It’s been a while since we released a V/A on Noir Music and I only ever compile them whenever I feel I have 5-6 tracks that stand out.

Dark Stars Volume 4 has been 6 months in the making and yes..... I know I am picky with the music I sign. I hear that on an almost daily basis.
But even though I could pick music from many different artists it still took me months of compiling, testing the music in clubs and at festivals and then putting together the tracks I felt stood out and complimented each other.

The great thing about V/A’s is that you get the chance to put together a release from artists with completely different sounds and ideas.
Although the sound of Dark Stars Volume 4 is quite minimal sounding overall, it still reflects musicality and great in-depth productions by skillful and experienced artists.
Another great thing about Volume 4 is that these are all artists who make their debut on Noir Music.

I truly love playing every single track from this release and I enjoy watching the crowds reactions around the globe.
I feel no need to get deeper into detail about the specific tracks, as the music will speak for itself.

It’s all about the music. New York stalwart and beloved DJ, Boris, lives by that statement each and every day. He is a man wearing many hats; one as a touring DJ, another as a producer dynamo and lastly as a label boss of Transmit Recordings. A career forged over decades of long nights in the Big Apple’s most revered rooms. From the infamous Roxy to Crobar to the once dominating Pacha NY on 46th Street, Boris maintained a following so devout, so loyal they were truly ‘Believers’. Pioneering a music movement in a city filled with those who have so little time to pay attention, Boris has been a production powerhouse when not performing for the masses. He’s been tapped by industry leaders such as Carl Cox for his label Intec, Dubfire for his label Sci-Tec, Paco Osuna and his Mindshake records, amongst countless others.

His ability behind the decks and in the studio has not only made him a New York favorite, but his music has taken him places all around the world ranging from the shores of Playa Del Carmen to the magical White Isle known as Ibiza. Known to many as the ‘DJ’s DJ’, Boris has had the career most DJs can only wish to have. The trends, they may change but the New York native has stayed true to his drum driven sounds and created his own niche in the wide and vast world of electronic music. Taking bits and pieces from every part of the globe he visits, Boris always maintains a piece of home in his music. 

Even though his career spans nearly three decades, the journeyman DJ has yet to falter. We currently find him playing leading to destinations across the globe and his music is in high demand with forthcoming releases many sought after labels, Boris will is constantly on the tips of the younger generation’s tongue. Why? Because talent, like wine, gets better with age.
