Receiving his first lesson in dance music, breaking into a club when he was 14 to experience funk and breakbeat firsthand, event organiser turned DJ and Ten Thousande Yen label co-owner Doc Daneeka goes in deep on the rave scene. Piecing together a club focused mix of upfront tunes delivered by both himself and the label, with a couple of exclusives thrown in for good measure, he is the maker of Mondays mix.

<p>Boris has been on a roll lately with high profile releases on Dubfire&#8217;s Sci+Tec, and his own Transmit label. This EP is his follow-up to last years successful release on Tronic. We have two tracks both of which consistently rock the floors. &#8220;Music is Medicine&#8221; is a peaktime techno track that has a fat groove and dark spoken vocal. &#8220;You Know&#8221; is a more chord driven track that&#8217;s slightly more tech house. We are excited for this release and are very happy to have Boris on board for his second release on Tronic! Enjoy and play out loud!</p>

Q: What do you think about My Favourite Freaks Podcast?

A: The podcast library is one of the most versatile DJ mix library I’ve ever seen. It’s absolutely FrEakY phenomenal!
I’m proud to have delivered more than one DJ mix to that collection.

Q: What kind of style you played in your mix? Do you made something special? Or just a mix?

A: This is a live recording of a 1h part of a longer DJ set I played at a Herzblut label night with Stephan Bodzin and myself.
It’s a peak time Techno set combined with some live elements I played during my set with analog drum computers &amp; synth.

Q: What is your next release and where do you release it?

A: After my first release „Brainwash EP“ on my new imprint Yes We Can, the second one is coming end of August in collaboration with Patrick Kunkel.
It’s a 6 track EP, three of them will be released on vinyl. One track is also in collaboration with vocalist Mehrklang.

I have already produced a new Broombeck album which is scheduled for a release end of this year and will be financed with a crowd funding project at the moment via this page:

Having opened the label doors to debutants from across the globe, many of which are just stepping out on their musical journey, SCI+TEC are happy to present a first release on the label from an artist who has been an integral cog in the US electronic music machine for many years.There are not many resident DJ's who can transport a whole dancefloor following from one club to another. Boris the St. Petersburg native and NYC resident did just that. With the imminent closure of his beloved Crobar and having built a huge loyal following through his three year residency, he simply uprooted, moved the 20 blocks north to Pacha New York and continued the party with his "Believe in Boris" faithful. Boris is the latest in a long line of NYC residents that have bonded tightly with their crowd and risen to become folk heroes, both in the US and across the pond. Having plied his groove-based power-house sound across the finest clubs in the US in the early 2000's, it wasn't long before Boris was lending his musical talents to remixing some of the biggest names in pop and finding his name at the top of the Billboard Club chart. It’s all about the music. New York stalwart and beloved DJ, Boris, lives by that statement each and every day. He is a man wearing many hats; one as a touring DJ, another as a producer dynamo and lastly as a label boss of Transmit Recordings. A career forged over decades of long nights in the Big Apple’s most revered rooms. From the infamous Roxy to Crobar to the once dominating Pacha NY on 46th Street, Boris maintained a following so devout, so loyal they were truly ‘Believers’. Pioneering a music movement in a city filled with those who have so little time to pay attention, Boris has been a production powerhouse when not performing for the masses. He’s been tapped by industry leaders such as Carl Cox for his label Intec, Dubfire for his label Sci-Tec, Paco Osuna and his Mindshake records, amongst countless others.

His ability behind the decks and in the studio has not only made him a New York favorite, but his music has taken him places all around the world ranging from the shores of Playa Del Carmen to the magical White Isle known as Ibiza. Known to many as the ‘DJ’s DJ’, Boris has had the career most DJs can only wish to have.
