The latest entry in this deep and meditative Mood Series brings a refined blend of minimal, dub-infused textures with a sharp sense of rhythm. From the first track 'A Piece Of Hope', the rolling shuffle and warm bassline hint at house influences while keeping a stripped-back, hypnotic flow. Lingering chords and subtle vocal touches add melodic depth, making it a well-rounded dancefloor selection. 'Closer' is more into headier territory, building tension with taut percussion and looming chords. The arrangement keeps things fresh, with rhythmic stops and shifts that create movement while maintaining an immersive, weighty groove. The evolving chord work, particularly in the latter half, gives the track an engaging, dynamic feel that holds attention without overcomplication. The title track introduces a more organic approach, weaving in natural sounds and intricate, live-feeling percussion. The deep, rolling bassline anchors the groove, while atmospheric elements subtly shift in the background. A gated breakdown at the midpoint adds a dramatic edge before smoothly returning to its steady pulse. Thoughtfully layered drum fills give it a live, evolving energy, making it an evocative listen both in and out of a club setting. Closing things out, 'Sweet Moment' is the most introspective of the set. A sparse yet emotionally rich melody, possibly from a stringed instrument, adds a haunting touch. Crisp percussion and static textures complement the melancholic undertones, lending a classical elegance to the composition. It’s a strikingly delicate piece that lingers in the mind well after its final notes.
With its balance of club functionality and deep musicality, this release stands as a strong debut, capturing a distinct mood while offering enough variety to stay compelling from start to finish. We are glad to welcome Javier Ho to the series and thank him for making us his home destination for his debut EP.

The Córdoba-based project EFE (Electronic Flamenco Esquejes) has released a new pack of remixes (or re-esquejes, as they call them) of the material from their debut album, 'Electronic Flamenco Esquejes' which featured tracks from other artists such as Durand and Drama.

This time, EFE contributes their track 'Confundir', while producer Durand (Latido) offers 'Si acaso muero' for reinterpretation by other artists. The result is two 10" White Label records, titled 'Madroit Remixes' and 'Andaluk Remixes'.
In the first of these, deep house master Dubbyman delivers two interpretations of the material. Firstly, Dubbyman enlists acclaimed Swiss producer George Btp (aka Dan Piu/Zarenzeit) to craft a remix that takes 'Si acaso muero' into deep ambient house territory—slow-cooked with his signature touch—only to break down halfway through with a broken beat pattern that elevates the track, making it perfect for the club. On the B-side, Dubbyman revives his Man-Drake alias to deliver a downtempo and dub odyssey based on 'Confundir', maintaining the track’s identity throughout a song that serves as an ideal session opener, reminiscent of artists like Kruder & Dorfmeister.

The second record opens with a remix of 'Si acaso muero' by Bazofia and Esteban Bove (members of the group Califato 3/4). Respecting much of the original material, they opt to transform the track into a breakbeat piece using a well-known drum sample. The result is a banger—perfect for splitting a set in two and making the crowd wonder what they’re listening to. On the B-side, pianist, composer, and producer Ylia (Susana Hernández) reimagines 'Confundir' as a deep UK bass and jungle track. Using dub and IDM techniques, she retains the original essence while elevating it into much darker and more adventurous sonic territory.

Both records, in a very limited run and pressed by Artesanos del Groove, will be available on April 25 via the Electronic Flamenco Esquejes Bandcamp.
