Loco Dice announces the beginning of a new chapter for his prolific Desolat label with the launch of SERÁN BENDECIDOS. Literally translating to ‘will be blessed’, SERÁN BENDECIDOS brings a message of unity and freedom, gathering together a group of artists that includes Dice’s companions from the past and the present, international guests as well as new and exciting talents. SERÁN BENDECIDOS is founded on a desire to connect the worldwide Desolat family, include people and create a community whose foundation is built on positivity, friendship and respect. It is bound with creativity and innovation and expressed through music, language and a coming together of people and cultures at events around the world. The lineups will boast a diverse mixture of established and upcoming artists with local and resident DJs being an important factor, giving Dice a platform to showcase new and unique talent from all walks of life. Since it’s inception 10 years ago Desolat has become one of the most pivotal and influential labels in the industry. It has been an outlet for numerous quality DJs and producers, many of whom now form the core of this new collective, with every one bringing their individuality into the mix. Dice’s hip-hop influences pervade his music and bring an unparalleled energy into his sets. Guti’s musical talents are endless, with a background of performing in live bands and as a virtuoso jazz pianist. Francisco Allendes is a well-trained classical musician, Caleb Calloway’s influences are a melting pot of traditional Puerto Rican music blended with the modern sounds of Chicago and New York, and Yaya’s rich African/Italian musical flavours run deep in his blood. Every artist is encouraged to draw on their musical heritage and the influences that have shaped them so far whilst continually striving to push the boundaries of electronic music further. I’m beyond excited to open 2018 with my podcast for Desolat "Seran Bendecidos". Within this mix I decided to include everything I’ve been playing towards the end of 2017 and some unreleased cuts I’ve been producing. To simply explain the style featured in my podcast is pumping baselines, unlimited grooves, and of course acid house influences. I tried to keep the listener on their toes with varied changes and some cool vocals but always keeping rolling baselines present throughout the entirety of the mix. Hope you enjoy it and stay locked in for more from the Seran Bendecidos crew.
