This song presented a challenge to continuously separate my ego from my creative process. What lies beyond that is true, honest, unfiltered expression, bleeding out from the seems. But, the theme of this song is also applicable to the listener. A practice to DANCE your ego out, in the craziest, most unrestricted way possible. Try it, it's fun :)

A New Syllabary

So many artists are being affected by this covid-19 pandemic, this is my passion, but it is also my career, and that part of the journey is on hold for now. I am unsure how this virus is going to effect my appearances over this next while, as so many have already been postponed. I will do what is best, for my health and for all of yours. Very much including mental health. 

KEEP DANCING. Mental health is so important to keep in check. Take care of each other, even from afar, and remember to keep dancing, even if it's just you in your living room. 

So in lieu of the in person sets, I put together for you guys the next in my "Stick to your Guns" series. This ones longer, and definitely a journey. I ask that you dance, release what needs to be released, and take in what needs to be taken in.

Back to the mix. 

Where are my roots as AppleCat? What aspects have stayed with me despite interchanging styles? What gives me that unique tingle when I hear it?

Multi cultural sounds, deep fairytale bass, erotic undertones, Classical/Cinematic beauty, magicks, - and motherfucking cosmic carnal dubstep. My intention is to create and share a mystical and primal underworld dance - then, to have us all come out the other side moved in some way - the kind of movement that is far beyond solely somatic.
As such every so often, maybe once every 8-12 months I craft a "Stick to your Guns" to remind myself -and anchor me- where I know my alignments are strongest.

Catnip has been a dance performer and costume artist for two + decades. Heavily influenced by ten years of Burning Man, she intends to stay weird and humble. Blessed to have opened for Imagika Om, Random Rab, David Starfire & Beat Kitty in Hawaii, she’s also played on Abraxas at Burning Man and on the Compass Stage at Lightning in a Bottle festival.
