Franko Lopez Marius K - Lipstick View - (Deep Tech Records)

Racing across the sand like a Land Cruiser, Lifer makes his debut
on Metroline with an EP of precision-engineered jams.
The opening track Apilca't gets raw. The same high production
values are there, but this track has a raw and spontaneous feel.
Lots of different, equally unpredictable rhythmic elements combine
to create a track with real movement and depth.
Black Lights is a swing-laden roller that brings elements of 2-step
rhythm together with minimal aesthetics to great effect.
Chaos Theory brings more ghost-in-the-box pads, but this time the
percussion is given more room to jack. The star of the show is the
detailed rolling groove, that expertly weaves Chi house elements
into a subtle and understated techno jam.
Final track Desert Punk rolls along like a renegade tank through
Fallujah. Menacing subsonic pads and dubby stabs create dense
atmospherics for the claps and snares to break through. A solid,
petrol-powered groove.

Enzo Siragusa teams up with Alexkid on the first (vinyl only) track of this new VA from London's esteemed Fuse label - 'Killimanjaro' skips along on razor sharp percussion but it's really all about the bass - having been bought up a Jungalist Enzo knows a thing or two about grimey basslines and Alexkid's first release on F Communications was a drum & bass track; together they bring a distinct d&b sensibility to this certified Fuse anthem. Jun Akimoto & Ittetsu step up next, '34 Bounce' keeps things nice and deep imbued with the duos off kilter drums whilst the flip offers up Rich NxT's distinctive take on house music, 'Livin A Vibe'; the rounded bass note lending the groove a distinctly hypnotic feel. Antony Difranceso rounds off proceedings with 'Yours', a fresh slab of beautifully dubbed out deepness.

The new dirtybird compilation is loaded with 11 great tunes I have been collecting for over 6 months. Most notably, the Shiba San "OKAY" record has absolutely been destroying every dance floor known to man. We have lots of big birds like Justin Martin, Catz ‘N Dogz & Justin Jay on this, plus a ton of great newcomers and friends making appearances.

The dirtybird BBQ was founded as a small get together in Golden Gate Park thirteen years ago. We've had the same core line-ups and even the same chef, Grillson, since the beginning.  But three years ago, the free party in the park got too big and our permit was pulled.  The city of San Francisco could no longer handle the amount of people showing up to the event.  

Ever since then we have been trying to think of way to bring back the vibe of the BBQ park party. This year we finally put together a team that is able to take the BBQ party all across North America and Europe. We will be starting in Miami and ending in San Francisco so make sure to come grill and chill with us sometime this year. This compilation is a celebration of the O.G. dirtybird BBQ vibe.   I hope you enjoy the music.
