Fool's Gold Records co-founder and NYC party institution Nick Catchdubs has played an instrumental role in the rise of North America's next-generation hip-hop and electronic music stars, and now takes center stage with original releases of his own. New single "Wuts That" (out 9/16) is a trapped-out blast of knucklehead funk, laced with tongue-twister verses from Bronx gremlins B.I.C. (Bitches Is Crazy) following in the grand tradition of rap troublemakers from Tha Alkaholiks to A$AP Mob. The single comes backed with an uptempo remix from Australian breakbeat whiz Kraymer, and sets the stage for Nick's debut album Smoke Machine (out on Fool's Gold in January '15), an anything-goes collection of gleeful club collabs and oddball beats featuring guest spots from IAMSU, Heems, Troy Ave, MNDR, Roach Gigz and more. 

Nick Catchdubs and B.I.C. will be performing live at Webster Hall Studio on Friday, 9/19 for the "Wuts That" release party. See Nick Catchdubs alongside Fool's Gold family and friends at the label's massive DAY OFF events in Los Angeles (10/12), Atlanta (11/11) and Miami (12/7).

This is a collection of selected vocal cuts from Friendly Fire Band's Premonitons Riddm, remixed in many bass styles, taking the band's one drop roots reggae tracks into the dance arena.

Remix duties are assured by chart topping producers such as jungle veterans Lion Fire & Jinx, and KJah, German remixers Dub Suppliaz, Artufex and Ill Mo Natty, all new on the label, who bring deep dubstep and steppas dub undertones to the mix, DJ Feva, who comes with a scratch heavy mashup, General Riddim (aka Malicious DJ, ex-Brotherhood of Filth) who freshens up the collection with an industrial ragga beat, and finally Gold Dubs for a 140bpm flex.

As with all Friendly Fire Releases, the emphasis is on righteous and upfull vocals, with the likes of Friendly Fire Band's own Tomlin Mystic, Chillavert, Murray Man, Ras Tweed & Peppery, Raphael, Collie Weed, City Kulture and the late Bingiman who leaves behind him his Message to the World.

So many great vocalists blessed this riddim that I couldn't settle for just using one, vocals featured here incude Raphael, Murray Man, Peter Spence, Pablo Rider and Peppery Bongo Chili.

Few old skool hip hop samples mixed in with the original reggae stems and the squelchy synth sounds, see if you can spot em.
