Captivating confidence and quiet sophistication. This is Almond Brown—DJ, producer, remixer, vocalist, consummate professional & wig snatcher. An eclectic mix of sounds, his music is best described as contemporary house with an aggressively distinctly funky resonance. His sets are an exercise in cross genre flexibility and harmony of House, vocal and Disco classics. “I’ve always jumped across genres, even back in Jr. high.  we’d play Cameo “I just want to be” followed by “Jamie’s Crying” Van Halen.  I feel most comfortable being outside of the lines a bit”. 

Born & raised in the PNW, AB  has been djʼing for over 35 years, but considers himself a musician first. He’s equally as comfortable singing, or in the studio writing & producing and has has residencies spanning from the Cuff to Q, while opening for some of the industries most iconic artists.

“As we emerge its vital we create spaces for Black & Brown artists to ensure a legacy of inclusion we can look back on in the next ten years. I’ll always have my hand in the business, and am excited to lend my voice to that effort, and equally excited to partner and offer my creative direction for a new SODO entertainment venue. Out of the darkness, I’m so thankful.

This edition of the Innerflight mix series features a true electronic music scene legend, Michael Manahan. The dude has his imprint all over the Pacific Northwest music scene with his involvement in Oracle gatherings, Cascadia Festival, Re-Bar, Hunt And Gather and many many more. Just in case you live under a rock and haven't heard this guy weave his web of mesmerizing music before, you're in luck. This mix was recorded live in support of Matthew Dear in January at the Monkey Loft and is a smooth blend of Amazonian vibes brought to a simmer and served hot. Michael will be celebrating the release of his new EP out on LAIKA Sounds with us at our Drop party at the Monkey Loft Friday March 4th along with another local legend Zacharia and Innerflight's own legend Rhines. It's all gonna be very legendary to say the least. Let us make party.

During a time when my external world was absolute chaos, I managed to channel all that energy into this serious yet driving club track. For me, this piece is a deep journey, an internal storm that unleashes itself in sound and completely envelops you, designed for total immersion that cuts through you and carries you through different emotions. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

DJ Cira tastefully blends many flavors of house and techno with a keen ear for infectious, body moving grooves. Based out of San Francisco, she frequently performs for promoters and collectives around the Bay Area and can be found working the decks at iconic clubs such as 1015 Folsom, Monarch, The Great Northern, and Public Works.

Known for her dynamic stage presence and ability to inspire crowds, Cira started DJing in 1998 after being immersed in the early American rave scene. As a result, her sets showcase a vast knowledge of dance music drawing from a diverse collection that spans over 30 years. She has since shared the stage with international headliners from Purple Disco Machine and Franc Moody to house legends Braxe & Falcon and Doc Martin. Fusing technical mastery with ecstatic energy, DJ Cira has become a staple of the San Francisco underground scene.
