First cold electric album. Nishat and Nick Wong helped me write & record some of the live guitar and bass guitar tracks, and also with the composition of a few songs on this album. 20,000-30,000 listeners downloaded (for free) the album via bit torrent (primarily Demonoid.com) and my website; also raised a few hundred bucks by requesting paypal donations on my website.

Eight Bit

My second Cold Electric album. I used the name 'DJ Cold Electric' to emphasize that this album was primarily a solo project, with more of an electronic sound, and the use of samples. My plan for the future is involve a full band & integrate more live instrumentation into the beats - especially live drums, to complement the electronic drums.

Days Passing

**UPDATE 5/21/2011 uploaded a new version w/ improved the drums & bassline; 5/7/2011 - I finished this entire song in 60 hours (probably about 30 hours of work - I was in the zone!). All original; used Ableton Live 8 to record guitar, bass guitar, and Korg Kaossilator (arpeggiator, synth pad, and basic drums), and Reason 5 for supplemental drums ('Kong Drum Designer') and for sidechain compression of the melody track (with bass-drum as the sidechain). Then used Logic Express to make the final mix of the drum, melody, guitar, and bass tracks.

Breezy Steez

Not just art, this is Nature. Notice the geometry of the sounds. The bass drums squeeze and compress the track volume, so it breathes with you. Retired in 2013, upon completion of the task.

I started producing beats (instrumentals) under the alias 'Cold Electric' in 2006; with a background playing guitar and viola in the school orchestra as a kid. The name is a reference to some obscure Nikola Tesla stuff (so-called cold electricity).

The first Cold Electric album (2008, feat Nishat on keys and Nick Wong on bass) went viral on some filesharing websites, after I uploaded it along with a "free for the people!" album description :) It was downloaded 20,000+ times within a few weeks from Demonoid.com.

In Feb 2011, I self-released my second album, Restore the Commons -under the alias 'DJ Cold Electric' - and subsequently finished a couple dozen additional tracks after that.

The vibe blends hip-hop drums, crunchy rock guitar riffs, electronic dance music, and party/disco textures, with a touch of 'old-school video game' flavor, and the occasional funky bassline for good measure. Enjoy! I will not be selling or promoting any of this ever, so here we have it.
