High-quality field recordings of thunderstorms captured in the Kamnik Alps region during 2024. This collection features some of the loudest and most impressive thunderclaps recorded that year.

Some tracks contain pure, cannon-like thunder with minimal background noise, while others include subtle rainfall ambience.

All sounds were recorded using professional-grade Sennheiser MKH40 and MKH8020 microphones. The recorder was carefully sheltered under a natural cover made from rocks, branches, and leaves to minimize unwanted noise and preserve the raw impact of each thunderstrike.

Background music has been added to protect these recordings from unauthorized use. All recordings are copyright protected.

Thats short clip from one night under highest peakes in Alps - rock walls almost 1000meter high makes that place awesome echo. Owls in that time were crazy - never hear so intensive all night and so many different sounds from them. Also its time of deer rutting - and one came very close to microphones. Wind higher at mountains makes noise sound.
