Bamboo Forest Hawaii is a 22-minute immersive 360º Mind+Body Sound journey experience crafted by the Earth Echo Collective. It showcases the captivating Bamboo Forest in Haleakala National Park, Maui, Hawaii, recorded by International field recordist Nick McMahan.

As the wind weaves through the bamboo groves, the soundscape becomes a symphony of nature's finest musicians. The enchanting combination of winds, bamboo forest, featuring various stringed instruments and the unique calls of Hawaii's tropical birds transports listeners to a world of serenity and tranquillity; using the power of 3D spatial audio to tickle your senses.

In 2022, Nick McMahan embarked on an enthralling audio expedition, spending several days in the lush Hawaiian islands to capture the essence of this magical bamboo forest. Among the stars of this audio masterpiece are the tropical bird species and the Coqui frogs that call the bamboo forest their home.

This track offers a breathtaking auditory journey, allowing individuals to escape into the heart of nature and immerse themselves in the timeless melody of Hawaii's bamboo forests and its feathered inhabitants.

Bamboo Forest, Hawaii [360° HEADSET EXPERIENCE]

Lake was froozen but on some places ice wasnt that thick. I was recording Ice sounds lasers and it was amazing very rare sounds when ice cracking moving and making sounds like they are not from this world.
 After that when sun rise and forest gets warmer many woodpackers fillled atmosphere with their hitting into trees. Place has nice acustic and maybe ice give more of it. Some distant noise from road and town came to recording place but they are very quiet.

Amidst the quiet calls of Chestnut-crowned Babblers, in this unedited excerpt from an overnight to morning recording, the singing of the Grey Shrike-thrush falls into two sections: in the first, the Shrike-thrush repeats a single familiar call, while in the second, it improvises more freely and lyrically. Some (not all) of the other birds heard include:  Australian Raven, Crested Bellbird, Emu, Galah, Grey Butcherbird, Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater, Striated Pardalote, Weebill....

Recorded with a pair of large-diaphragm condenser omnidirectional microphones in AB array with 62 cm spacing, with the microphones raised high on a lightweight lighting stand.

Recorded respectfully and mindfully on the land of the Meru and Danggali peoples.

A herd of red cows approaching us from front and passing by on a warm September noon of 2019 at the hills of Southern Urals. Lots of energetic mooing, shepherd shouts and whistles, some birds chirping and moderate wind. I love this recording for its brutal and raw energy.
Recorded with Nevaton VR FOA mic into Zaxcom Fusion 12, decoded to binaural with Harpex-X plugin. Please listen on headphones for correct spatial reproduction.
