When it comes to techno, electro, and more importantly Electroclash, few can argue The Hacker’s credentials. The Frenchman was instrumental in the formative years of these movements and being active since the mid-90s has meant his discography is positively bursting with pivotal moments from electronic music. It is nearly impossible to discuss The Hacker without mentioning Miss Kittin, with some of their work such as “Champagne” EP including seminal tracks “Frank Sinatra” and “!982”. This is of course only a small, but not very important part of The Hacker’s story. With a string of solo albums and countless EPs to his name, the cross-section of electronic music that The Hacker enjoys is wide. To us, Daniel Ansorge aka Barnt is what Lady Gaga might be to someone else. Barnt is one of our all-time favorite artists. Whenever he played somewhere nearby, we made sure to be there.

We’ve been following him closely ever since his early releases around 2012. So you can imagine that having Barnt play at Festival Rosnička 2024 was a dream come true for us.

Even though Daniel, together with his label Magazine, has influenced an entire decade of younger underground music producers, he has remained incredibly humble and modest. He also never lowered the quality of his music or changed his sound just to become more popular.

We’re honored to share with you one third of Daniel’s set from his performance at Rosnička 2024.

British producer wAFF has been making waves in recent years, reflecting on a diligent 2015 spent playing across the likes of Europe, Africa, Asia and the States, when not making routine appearances at Paradise, Ibiza. As a producer he’s dropped several lauded releases on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations imprint, not to mention Matthias Tanzmann’s Moon Harbour and Sven Väth’s Cocoon, with his next outing landing on renowned Swedish label Drumcode run by techno titan Adam Beyer.

Laying down hard hitting kicks from the off, ‘Holographic’ churns out an undulating synth combined with shuffling hats and a cavernous low-end, before ‘VibrationZ’ employs a low-slung groove fashioned from a sultry bassline, floating chords and sinister vocal. Tying it together, ‘Syncronistic’ is on a more heads down tip with whirring atmospherics, crunchy snares and subtle 303 squelches for a lengthy and mesmerising piece of production.
